Yours should be a Yanmar 3 cyl diesel, you can use regular antifreeze. Get the usual stuff, anti-rust etc. ....

That's correct. Yanmar's manual says to flush and change every two years but maybe today's products last longer. ....

If you are unable to determine whether your diesel engine is wet-sleeved or dry-sleeved, I strongly suggest you err on the side of caution. Conventional anti-freeze is ok for dry sleeved engines, but wet-sleeves need a SCA type coolant that minimizes cavitation. I use Peak Fleet Charge 50/50.

I use Cool Gard a product packaged for and sold by Deere. I don't know it's properties. They have the premix and the regular concentrate. I use the concentrate along with distilled water.

CoolGard is in fact an anti-cavitation additive. I don't use the concentrate because there's no definitive way to determine the concentration level. Starting with a fresh fill of premix - then topping it up as required with the same premix - removes the potential for an incorrect concentration level

Since even a tablespoon of antifreeze is lethal to dogs how do you handle the flush drain and disposal of the fluid if you have canine or other animals on your property? ....

Caution label: PETA supporters won't like this response.
We have very clear leash laws around here. Otherwise legal products like antifreeze are not to blame for the deaths of strays..Nor does it fall on the person that owns the antifreeze. That particular onus falls on the irresponsible pet owners

One of our sons who works for a major oli company said their sales of the new "Safe" antifreeze that was all the talk several years ago have droped to nearly nothing. Even tho the new fresh from the jug product was a safe fluid it became contaminated with all sorts of toxic things after it was in an engine for a length of time.
It just cost more but really didn't solve the problem.
