Just recently purchased a used 2009 Kioti DK40SE for work on my property both for clearing and for maintaining food plots. I have a very noticeable rattle under the front part of the hood when at higher rpm. Is it to do with the hood latch maybe.
Any ideas or fixes

Just an idea, for fun you might add a cetane booster like Power Service to the fuel and see if it quiets down. A diesel rattle can sound like a mechanical rattle. If you don't drive your tractor for a month or two at a time it will help keep the fuel from going bad too.

Is the air cleaner clean? Read the manual--typically modern diesels need to be run at high RPM---2600 to 2800 which is at or near full throttle. Anything less is detrimental to the engine and efficiency. ....

Can you decide between engine and something touching? Is it there with the hood up? If you can't localize it by touching things when you hear it, a mechanics stethoscope (a few bucks at auto stores) might help. ....

Hi JoeBoy, I know this is an old post but I have recently bought a 2012 DK40SE with 250 hrs. It too has an intermittent clatter ( like marbles ) at 15 - 2000 rpms. Driving me nuts. What did you finally end up doing with your tractor clatter?
