My JD 455 keeps blowing the right 15 amp fuse in the electrical panel by the right pedal. I just replaced the battery which went dead after about four years. Now the fuse continues to blow when I replace it when I try starting the tractor?

If that fuse didn't blow with the old battery I'd start with the basics. Follow the negative cable to the chassis ground, unscrew it there and shine it up good with a file or sandpaper before reattaching. Make sure it's clean. Look for any other ground cable that might be between the chassis and engine and do the same to it. Dirty or corroded connections will greatly increase the circuit resistance can cause blown fuses. Make sure the cables are good, i.e. no corrosion inside the insulation at the battery end and good, solid connections at the terminals.

Check your operator/shop manual or dealer and ensure you have the correct fuse in place. It may be the correct amperage but it may require a special slow blow type fuse or a breaker.

Also check and ensure all your grounds are clean and have a good contact. ....
