Has anyone had to change a grease fitting on an LA302 Loader.
I was changing the bucket and found the nipple of the fitting was broken off? It looks like a small nut holds it on?
Anybody have an idea if this is a standard size? How to change it?
Thanks to all
RD

Roaf3x,
The grease fitting simply screws in. It has a hex nut located dead center of the fitting. It's threaded below the nut, and the grease fitting is located above it.
If you still have the nut showing, you can put a wrench on it and screw it out counter-clockwise. It's probably a metric grease fitting. Your local auto parts dealer will have a replacement. Take what's left of the old one with you, so that the male threads can be matched up.

Once you know the size, most farm- or auto-supply stores stock them in low-cost boxed assortments (straight, or 45 or 90 degrees). They also get changed because they are plugged up, or you want to change the angle. ....

If it is sheared off level with the surface use a left hand drill bit to get it out, they work great for broken bolts, etc. where nothing is left to get hold of. Frank. ....

Frnky, does that left hand bit do the work of removing? I've used something like the left hand bit but it was slightly tapered so that it pulls itself into the offending part as it removes it.
Seems like there was another purpose for the left hand bit but I can't remember what. Maybe I'm thinking of a tap. ....

EW; Yes, it will remove the broken threads. Usually I start with a right hand bit to make the first hole in a broken off bolt and try as best I can to get it centered, a regular centering bit works best for that. Then work your way up in size with left hand bits and I've yet to have one fail to bring the shell of the bolt out with the bit. Till I had a machinist friend of mine tell me about using left hand bits I had tried every kind of "Easy Out" known to man, all were a joke especially when one snapps off level with the surface.
