I have an opportunity to purchase a used FEL (Kubota LA211) for my John Deere 950. My need is for an occasional and light use FEL. Do you think this one will be a reasonable match for my intended use?

I'm not sure. If you can see the image I loaded; it appears to me if the two mounting brackets (see foreground, center of picture) were mounting on the lower frame of the JD 950, other than connecting the hydraulics, I'm not sure how much more is needed, but that is why I posted the question. ....

You mean it used to be mounted on a 950? I'm not savvy enough to know if that was custom or if it just bolts up (skeptical that it would) but if it came off a 950 it should probably work. Does your 950 already have the valves and joystick?
I'd be curious why it is no longer being used on the sellers 950. ....

I'm not sure if the Kubota FEL was ever on a JD 950. My tractor does have the valves and the Kubota FEL comes with a joystick. ....

John, I think the point Ken (KWSchumm) was trying to make is that the 3 pieces in your photograph are designed to fit a particular group of Kubota tractors.
Your JD950 will most definitely have a different mounting set up, the holes will be all different sizes and locations and the width of the tractor itself will be different.
In other words, the 2 pieces in the foreground of the picture will need to be either extensively re-worked or new ones made that will fit your tractor.
It's not a big job for someone who has the right skills and tools, but unless you've got a good friend that can do it, it will likely cost more than any savings you may think you've found.

John, I often say anything is possible today, and if not give someone an hour!
To do what you are looking to do would be a big job and more then likely a dissappointment when done.
The small chassis of the sub-compacts are short in frame length do to the wheel base and often to narrow to begin with for the chassis of the 950.
You state that it is only for occasional work, that would help for it to last longer but there is about 800lbs of capacity difference between the two!
I'd look for something that might be a closer match if you do have the abilites that Murf brought up!
