Okay, I'm tired of struggling, yanking, moving hydraulics up and down trying to attachment my five foot bush hog to my Cat. 1 Kubota. Is there an easier way. I've heard putting it on blocks helps but still seems difficult to line everything up. Please help! There's got to be an easier way.

I have seen quick release 3 pt setups to mount on cat 1 tractors in catalogs (Northern). I don't know how good they work or if they'd help your situation. Maybe someone else has experience with them and can comment. ....

I have found that spraying some WD-40 on the pins helps make removal and placement easier...you still have to align the arms with the pins but once you have them close enough to insert one then either move the tractor forward or backward to align the other you can slide it into place much easier. I have gotten pretty good at it and can do it in just a minute or two. ....

Here, for what it is worth, is the benefit of MUCH experience & experimenting;1) Dana is right...flat & level is very important.2) if you have an adjustable lift arm, both must be EXACT same length.3) blocks under implements are preference, just make sure blocks are level.4) put a bungee cord between the arms (of the 3pth, lol)to ensure tractor is centered when backing into the implement.5) 'quick-hitch' gadgets can be handy, but also can be a PAIN, too much motion, etc., IMHO, unnecessary for home use, better to stick with flat and level.Best of luck & be careful. ....

Being new to tractors and so far only wrestled with one implement...but from horsing around alignment holes in stage trusses and things I know that a drift pin can be very handy...a nice 3/8 piece of hardened steel. Depending on the implement it might be worthwhile to drill (if there is a place for it) a hole directly above the pin. Then as you back your tractor in close put the drift pin through the drawbar and then through the implement and yank on it until they line up...then you just need to drop your drawbar to the level of the pin.If the implement is a bracket attachment using hitch pins it's even easier...just put the drift pin through one of the implement holes and through the drawbar and yank it around until you can get the pin through the other side.Good LuckKim ....

Thanks for the advice. One key does seem to be levelness. But the only place on by 6.5 acres here in the TN hills is the driveway and I want to avoid storing the bushhog there. Perhaps I can work out a series of blocks adjusted for height to create a level platform but then the tractor would still be not level. The drift pin idea is very interesting. It just may work. Will give extra leverage in the right direction. Thanks again. ....

I am using the Delta Hook quick coupling. It works great, if you don't haveany implements that have a tall gearbox. See the discussion on Delta Hook on this forum. ....
