I am looking for information on a Harry Ferguson TO 30 S/N: TO129613. The owner has stated that the tractor is a 1963 or 65 vintage but I am suspect. The tractor is blue with grey fenders and hood, runs great and was completely reworked two years ago. He is asking $2000.00. Anyone have any idea of the correct age and weather or not this is a good price.
Thanks
Dan

Machinerylink dot com says the TO30 was made from 1951-1954. That serial number is a 1954 I believe. Asking price for a 1954 in good condition is around $2500 so the price isn't bad. ....

kwschumm: Thanks for the information. Although the tractor is older than I thought I still think it is a pretty good deal. My biggest concern still in the back of my mind is it is still 50 years old. I don't want a maintenance nightmare down the road. Do you have a similiar tractor? If so how is it holding up.
Any information would be helpful.

I don't own anything similar, I just looked up the info on machinerylink. A friend of mine has a 1940 Ford 9N and he gets a ton of use out of it, although I wish he'd retrofit a ROPS on it. These old machines are rugged and simple so if parts are available they're still quite useful. There's a Yesterday's Tractors website called ytmag dot com that has a H. Ferguson section on it. You might ask some questions there since those guys know old machines. ....

Dan, there are so many of those tractors out there it's unbelievable.
I know for instance, with the Ford Jubilee, which is the same vintage, you can buy points, carb kits, etc., over the counter at any Ford store. In fact, I'm told Ford car dealerships can still order you parts for a flathead V8 because there are so many of them still in service on generators and such.
If you're that concerned, check with a few local dealers and ask them what is & isn't still available for them.
Best of luck. ....
