Does any one have any problem with Kubota Credit processing payments on a timely basis? I know that I could have them draw it directly from my checking account but I don't want to do it that way. The day I sent in my payment I simultaneously sent a payment to my credit card company in the same city that I mail my check to Kubota Credit. The credit card payment was processed several days before the Kubota Credit. Why? The USPS isn't that bad.

I found that when I purchased my Kubota last December 31st my 1st payment coupon arrived and was due before the tractor was delivered (issue with the dealer not Kubota). I elected to write a check each month and send it in, too many issues could occur if you allow banks and creditors easy access to your money. Since then Kubota cashes the check on a timely basis. ....

Credit card companies know time is money, maybe Kubota credit is more lax, has inadequate staff to process payments, clears through a bank that is not local. Lots of possibilities.

The important thing is legally if your are billed through the mail, technically as long as your check is good once it is in the mail system the payee is paid. Problem is you need proof that you mailed it such as a certified r registered letter.

I pay for almost everything electronically online, I rarely use a stamp. ....

I don't have a Kobata card, so I can't comment on them, but the Mrs. and I use seperate cards for the same account, Mastercard, I think. When the bill comes we sort out what is hers and what is mine, I write a check for my part, and she writes a separate check for her things, (different banks, five miles apart) sometimes her check will be back to the bank a week before mine, or vicaversa. The Mrs. still gets her cancelled checks back, my bank hasn't returned cancelled checks for several years now. I fully agree with you guys, I don't want anybody automaticly withdrawing from my account. Frank. ....

I am not saying Kubota is playing any games but there are those companies who do this so your payment is late and thus your rate jumps. Beware that with some of the large companies if you are reported late with another company even thought it is not with them, their rate still increases. Dennis, I did not know the payment being in the mail was considered payment received even with proof. ....

Kt,

That is only if the "normal" billing and payment is by "Mail". As we move to an all digital world, "normal" is becoming more like real time electronic payment.

I don't recommend testing the legal waters on this "in the mail thing", I personally pay almost everyone through my online bill payment system, that way I have a record of what I paid by vendor.

Dennis; Like you all my kids do their banking and bill paying online. I guess I'm just a bit too old fashoned for all that, I still want to write a check to pay a bill. I've also heard the stories that if you are late on one credit card you can get an intrest jump on others you aren't late on. That's one of the reasons we are elimenatiing the credit cards down to no more than one or two accounts. ....

I'd lay odds on it they might be a little slow do to the growth that they are having in the credit department. I know what we used to sell with a bag full of cash seems to have turned into stacks of paperwork.
It's not a bad thing but it is frustrating, if you are cutting it close and they are a little slow then things might get goofed up. Then it takes a call which at that point it is a negative for you, as well as them, someone has to straighten it out! I don't believe Kubota or any finace company wants to leave money in transit and I feel it is just growing pains for them. That's a good pain for you as well as them! ....

I set up an online profile with Kubota Credit and I have been very pleased with the results over the past year. The draw on my checking account occurs at the same time each month, and there has never been a problem. It's a lot easier than paying through the mail, always on time, and just one more thng I don't have to worry about writing a paper check for. ....

Let me add a twist to this...auto deposits into your checking account. Did you realize that gives (maybe not in all cases but many) them the authority to with draw money from that same account? HELLO

not enough people are making deposits into MY checking account. The only EFT I have are the paychecks and bill paying...

Am I missing the point, was it in response to my last post or was it just general advice?

Kenny, speaking of "reverse withdrawal", I had to do that with a company that would not send me my skid steer tracks after I sent him a check for $2800 which he cashed. All I did was fill out a form and pay my credit union $20 and within a day it was electronically pulled out of his account and put back in mine. Somehow he found out about it the next day and threw a fit (apparently he decided to send me a check after 3 months of lies). So my credit union called me and I told them to go ahead and give it back because he had sent me a check for a refund which I got that day and cashed it--but not deposited it.

What is scary is that my credit union did not ask for any kind of verification or proof that I was owed the money---so the same thing could happen to me if someone paid me with a check and wanted it back for any or even NO reason! ....

Mobilus, general info only. It is easy to believe if you give premission to deposit that is all you are giving when if you read Earthwrks comment you find out there is much more to it. ....
