I finally got to spend a couple of hours on my new 4310 today. I love this thing! The MX-5 cutter mowed down and chewed up 9 foot vine maples like they didn't even exist and the tractor was far more stable going up and down the hills than I thought it would be. Bushhogging on rough ground didn't bother my sore back in the least, so the suspension seat seems to do a great job.
I do have a couple of minor complaints. For one thing, setting the parking brake was sort of an iffy proposition - the indicator always comes on but twice I got up to get off the tractor and it started rolling. Pressing the brake harder seemed to make it catch. Anyone else seen this?
It's also hard to see the yellow PTO dash light in sunlight.
Lastly, it is just crying out for a toolbox. Setting tools on the floor next to the seat doesn't cut it and I have no idea where I'd store a chain. Anyone have tips on how to mount a toolbox on this machine?
So far this tractor seems well suited to the jobs I have around here, and I'd like to thank all the contributors here for helping me with my choices!

Quite awhile ago a guy said he strapped lengths of plastic drainpipe to his ROPS. He glued caps on one end and left the caps loose on the other end. Something like that would hold many of the things I need fairly regularly end up walking back to the shed for. I can't figure where to put a toolbox on my mid-80's Ford either. It's not an uncommon problem.
I usually carry what I think I'll need in the loader and put it on the ground where I'm working. Of course, I often forget something; lynch pins disappear in the grass etc.; and then there's the time I forgot that chain and tools were on top of septic stone I was using for ballast. They ended up in a pit underneath the stone. It already had been a long hot day. Fishing around in septic stone looking for tools didn't do anything for the day and made me late for dinner too. I figure I maybe need a better solution.

Kubota made tool boxes a standard feature on many of there tractors and have it right behind the seat on the Grand L-series. ....

Kwschumm, I bought a tool bag at home depot for around $20 them used the shoulder straps to ancor it to the grill gaurd in the front of tractor I have a 15ft chain , extra pins and clips as wells as a hammer and other assorted hand tools in there. no more trips back to the shed for what you might need. look at my pic #3 ....

NH has a toolbox on their TC33D too. Although the Kubota and NH toolboxes would be helpful they seem to be too small to hold everything I want to carry - maybe 40 feet of chain, channellocks, big hammer, etc. The 4310 has a SMALL box on the left fender but it won't hold much more than a cell phone and a few packs of earplugs. ....

Plots1, that tool bag you have looks like a good way to go.
On my 4310 they mounted a bracket across the width of the tractor over the 3ph which is used to mount the extra hydraulics for the Top-N-Tilt. If this bracket is strong enough I may look at mounting a toolbox on top of it. I'll have to take some measurements and maybe build in some extra support.

kwschumm, I have the same issue with the parking brake on mine too. Just have to push real hard while pulling out the brake knob and listen for the clunk/click of the latch setting. You definitely won't like refueling it if you have a bad back. The 3pth rock shaft arms were constantly flopping around no matter how tight I set the sway links so I bungee corded them together to hold them in place. The mmm was fun adjusting and leveling but is not bad once adjusted and and installing a few times.
Have you given her a good bath yet with your new pressure washer? ;o) I go over mine with a compressed air nozzle after each use to blow off all the dust and debry. Keep a REALLY close eye on the battery. The vibration cause battery acid to leak out and it will get into the transmission cooler. I check mine after each use and wash it out if needed. I think eventually I will install a Optima battery. Don't fill the fuel tank up to the tip top. The vent hole in the cap will leak fuel all over until the level goes down. If you are interested I can take some picture of the fuel cart set up I made and post them. Should make things alot easier refueling and now I can buy off road fuel in bulk. Let me know when you get close to 50 hours and I can pass along the experience I encountered when I did my 50 hour break in service. Make sure you check the torque on the wheels and FEL now. I found that I got a half turn out of most of the hardware on mine when I checked it. Check the tire pressure as i found mine was all screwed up from the dealer. ....

Chief, thanks for the feedback on the parking brake. It's not a big deal but I wanted to know if mine was a unique situation. I haven't had to refuel it yet, but probably in the next day or two - maybe I'll end up in the market for a pumping fuel system like yours :) I haven't had any problems with rockshafts flopping around - probably because the Top-N-Tilt has always been hooked up.
I have been pressure washing most of the dirt off after each use. It sure gets dirty after bush hogging when everything is so dry. Thanks for the tips on fuel and battery. The battery looks clean and dry so far - if I have a problem I might swap the battery for the Optima on my generator. My dealer did a good setup job - no loose bolts anywhere and the tires were right on spec. I've retorqued the lug bolts a couple of times and not found any to be loose.

KWS... the parking brake handle seems alittle short for the job it has to do. When I set mine my wife can not, noway, and not in this lifetime get it to release.
The cables are touchy little snots and getting both brakes to hold equally is a real pain.
My 3ph arms do not move very much with the pins installed, at least I don't think so but I've operated many a tractor that the arms had no way of holding except with chains and then you had to tie them together.
I've always been a little partial to my towing/work chains being on the front or side frame of my tractors. I have lost some off the back and had to go hunt them. I have started, a year ago, the brackets on the brush guard to put a couple of 6"X 12-14" deep conduit pipes with a bottom welded in them for chains. I keep the hooks hooked to the top lip. I've never lost one this way. I've had them pull out but I see the front...I only use 1/4 chain on the little tractor. Any heavier and I'd abuse it... 1/4 seems plenty heavy for a little compact.
Tom I do the same thing haulin tools and stuff in the bucket. BUT I'll be thinking 6 projects ahead and see something in the way I've ment scoop up and move to the bank where I dump stuff and GUESS WHAT..... Now I get to go pick up tools...
My 4400 has a little tool box built in on the left fender. I am surprised yours does not. Or does it have electronic stuff there???
Fueling: I stick a hose in it from my oil heat tank and pump away...

Harvey, the 4310 does have a small utility compartment on the left fender, but it's really small. It can't hold much more than my cell phone. My hammer won't even fit in it.
Good idea on the conduit for chain - I might try something similar with some 6" schedule 40 PVC strapped to the brush guard. The chain would probably coil up neatly and pull out fairly easily avoiding tangles. Is 1/4 chain strong enough for a 30 hp CUT? I figured 3/8 at a minimum.
