Has anyone else noticed that the JD web site is a lot slower than Kubota's or New Holland's? The only reason I am asking is because JD seems interested.

In the course of my tractor shopping I have made extensive use of JD, Kubota, and NH web sites. Of all of these JD's had the most features, but for me it was consistently far slower than the others. They sent me a survey and I commented about the poor performance. Apparently this got their attention because several friendly JD employees emailed me to ask about it. They claim that their site is as fast as the others but I know I spend a lot of time waiting, and the RX LED on the modem hardly blinks when downloading JD pages. Of course there's no broadband here in the boonies.

I'm not just Deere bashing either because it looks like I'll be ordering a 4310 tomorrow!

I always found the JD site slow. I gues I figured it was because they seem to layer one page on another. You have to open several pages to get info then back out. What a pain. Try getting a response on a safety belt. You'll find out about slow. lol. ....

I'm on a 56k modem too but rarely get more than 24Kbps connections - we are on a shared microwave link to the nearest phone company switch. Still, I find most sites I visit to be acceptably fast (given the slow link speeds), but JD's is barely usable for me. Even Kubota's site that has lots of flash animation is 5x faster than Deere's.

I'm trying to find out if it's just me or if anyone else thinks it's slower than most sites. ....
