Hello,
I'm in the middle of purchasing a house on 26 ac in North East Penna.
The home owner has a 5 year old John Deere 770 4 WD with 250 hours, along with the brush hog, rear mower, bucket, post hole digger, rake and a blade. The tractor looks new and was garage kept, the equipment looks ok but was left out side.
I will need this type of equipment for snow removal on long driveway and mowing about 7 ac of lawn.
Can anyone give me and idea of what price to offer for this stuff.
Thanks

I'm confused. I think the 770 was the predecessor to the 790. Machinerylink says a 1998 770 4wd in good condition is worth about $11k, and listed for $15k new. However, a brand new 4wd 790 today plumbed for a loader lists for $11679. If the 770 was the predecessor to the 790 then I sure wouldn't spend $11k for a used one. ....

I spoke to a John Deere dealer near Binghamton NY last week.
He said a 790 4 WD 27 horse would list without the attachments at about $12000. The mower=2200, bucket=2000, hog=1100, snow blower=1600,blade=400.
They would give you a break on some things if purchased along with new tractor.
I also think you are correct that the old 770 and the new 790 are about the same. ....

Yeah, I edited my first post above. The $9500 I originally mentioned was for a 2WD, but a 4WD with dual SCVs (for the loader) lists for $11679. If it was me I'd offer the guy maybe $9-10k for the whole package. ....

Thanks for the quick reply, This tractor does look like it was taken care of and I will need one but didn't want to make an offer that was too far from the true value. ....

Ken is about right 9-10 K. Ideally get it added into the price of the house as if you have a morgage it is more useful to spread the payments and deduct the taxes. ....

Hello again,

No Amish family ties, I would just like to have a mini-farm
for my wife and I to play with.
I'm retired and like to hunt, fish, garden and make some home made wine.
This property is about half wooded sunny hill side and the other half South facing lawn/field, a 14' deep 5 ac. stocked pond and a log style home.

....
