have a B2150 w/ an Allied 180 Loader. I've been pushing large rocks/sometimes better luck pulling w/ a chain. I think the loader can handle it but the X7892 Allied 60" bucket has bent on the top of the bucket where the rock contacts the top rail. This is small gauge steel on the top. I'm thinking about welding a steel plate across the top. How much do heavier duty new buckets go for? Better to start over w/ a
heavier bucket or repair/reinforce this one?

I tweaked my bucket after I installed a center mounted tow hook. I bent the upper lip down about 1/2 inch. I fixed it by bolting a heavy (1/4") piece of angle inside the full length of the bucket. It worked like a splint to straighten the bend as I tightened the bolts and make a much sturdier top edge. ....

I would take it to a welding shop and have them straighten it. Then have them reinforce it and put on a couple of hooks. ....

I had a Bushhog loader bucket that was modified. A piece of steel 1/4 inch by an inch and 1/2 was welded long the edge top of the bucket, above this were welded chain hooks. When I lifted any thing I would chain on the top of the bucket and often the chain would rest on the top edge. I never had any problem with the bucket bending. I also moved a number of large rocks.
I now have a JD 70A but have not modified yet and was all bent by the previous owner. ....

Just fix it. Unless it is beyond reasoable repair and it doesn't sound like it. Repair should be much cheaper than new bucket. ....

I would fix the top like suggested in the other posts. I would take the time to reinforce it and add a hook or two. There are cutting edges available that you might want to add on to the bottom if that is getting tweaked a little. They would only cost about 40 dollars and would double the edge you have and you would not need to worry about bending it again if properly installed. ....
