A friend of mine is picking up a new 4210 and wants to get it setup to use my 48 Hoe. Only the 47 hoe is listed for the 4210. My friend asked the dealer if they 48 hoe would fit and work on the 4210. They said yes. I'm wondering if this is true why would Deere not have it listed? The mount part numbers seem to match up. Could it be hydro capacity of the 4210?

The 4310 has 22% greater hydraulic flow and 18% greater hydraulic pressure than the 4210. That's why the 4210 has lower 3ph lift numbers and is probably why the 48 backhoe isn't approved. I'd guess it would fit but would probably operate a little weaker than you'd like. ....

The 47 & 48 will mount the same way. There is more iron hanging out on back with the 48. The 4200 will be WAAAAAAAY outta balance. But it will work. I'd be real careful around it. My 4400 is plenty light in the front as it is. I can only imiagine how light the 4200 would be. I would not work it on any type of slope. ....

I have a 48 hoe on a 4310, even if it will fit I think you're begging for all kinds of trouble. a 48 hoe is almost 500 lbs. heavier than a 47 and to make matters worse the lift capacity of the 3 pt. on the 4210 used to lift the hoe into position on the subframe is 500 lbs. less than a 4310. I've ran farm and industrual equipment all my life and beleive me overloading a machine ends up costing you way more than using a proper size machine from the git go. Without a loader or lots of front weights on the 4210 I really doubt that you cold mount the hoe without the front of the tractor coming off the ground. Frank. ....

Thanks for all your posts. All the information makes perfect sense and I have to agree. I will pass it along to my friend.
