I'm a new member and looking to buy my first tractor. Can anyone tell me anything about Mahindra's? Looking at the 28 and 35 hp in both 2wd and 4wd. Are they reliable? Do they hold a resale value? Thanks in advance.

My 2615 has only 9 hrs so far but I am happy, no very happy so far. These are in short supply and were Cub Cadets for years. Which line were you looking at? Various companys make differnt models. This is a heavy duty unit and dose what they say it will do.

Ken:
Did you look at the Mahindra 2810? Besides not having HST, it seems comparable. However, I do see that the 2615 has higher lift (2205 vs 2075) and greater hydraulic flow (7.8 vs 5.88). I've not done any serious price comparing. Your comments please?

The fact that the 15 series was well proven and prefected for year was important to me. (Cub International Harvester mfg by Mitsubshi) The 10 series was made by another company and I heard (true or not) the 10's are being discontinued. The 15 series also comes in a gear model. The recent addition of an available rear backhoe for the 15's was nice. It all depends on what you want to do and how much. The 2615 is probably bigger than I need for my 3 acres but the power, 3rd speed, and the width of the unit makes it nice and stable on our Pa. hills. E mail your number I would be glad to give you a call.

Not sure how much of that lousy resale value is the brand and how much is the fact it's 2WD. Resale value on 2WD tractors is the pits. ....

All I know is that I been to many dealers throughout the state NC, and its the same response when I mention Mahindra. What was most surprising even the Mahindra dealer who sold it to me didn't even want to talk trade with my tractor. I have come very close to writing Mahindra asking about their poor resale value and another Mahindra dealer said not to waste the time. All I know is that their customer rating as far as resale value has to be very low. While pricing other major brands I have found that the major brands are not far off the price in which Mahindra Dealers are asking for comparable makes. ....

jdavis,
I have a Mahindra 2810 gear drive with fel and backhoe. I am a retired heavy equipment operator so I know a thing or two about machines. I think that pound for pound this is as good as I have run. It is 3065 .lbs. The 2615 is a good machine but in my opinion the 2810 is better for loader work. The 10 series is built in South Korea. Maybe you should compare the two. You can do that on the Mahindra web-site. Good luck.

I had a 4110 Mahindra with the Bradco 511 hoe. Was a great machine,. I don't think anyone can go wrong with the brand. Mahindra at least strives to get it right, help the dealers if ever a problem and tends to continue offering machines that can pretty much cover any category a person may need ....
