I have an older (early 80's) B7100 HST. Can I use one of the new mid mount mowers? About how much should I expect to pay for one? Are there any other mower options I should consider? Thanks

Mike,I just looked into it a little. I have a B6200 2X4 with a power take off at the front of the machine, a 60" mid mount mower. I looked at a B7200 HST 4X4. This machine had a power take off from the transmission aimed foward. A dealer told me you need to check rotation of the shaft to make sure that the blades spin in the correct direction. You might want to compare some of the frame attachments as well for clearances. Chances are you can adapt about anything if you are handy as long as the blades spin in the correct direction. I saw a 72" mid mount mower recently advertized for $900. New mowers are around $2,000. The dealer told me you should be able to find a used deck for around $800 to $900 in a 48" to 60" range. ....
