I'm trying to turn off the fuel petcock on the tc33 fuel filter but it won't turn and I am afraid I'll break it. It almost looks like there is a setscrew on top of the thing but I can't see it because it is blocked by a couple of hard lines.

any tips?

Tom

I would consult the operator's manual just to be sure no steps were missed. You may have to work with it to loosen it up. Have you tried calling your dealer shop to see if they have any tricks to address this issue? ....

I just check my TC33D and when the fuel is in the run position the pit-cock is at the (6) six-o’clock position (down). When I need to turn the fuel off I move the pit-cock to the (9) nine o’clock position. (To the left)

The pit-cock valve turns very easy no force needed.

Because they are aluminum if the are not turned on a regular basis they can corrode. Try spraying it with some wd-40. then use a pair of pliers and work it back and forth until it turns freely. There is no set screw. If you can not get it to move you can clap the feed line off with a small pair of vise grips to prevent flow. ....

The phillips head screw on top of the petcock is what keeps the unit together. The screw matches a slot in the turning part (valve). You should plug the fuel line coming from the tank and remove the screw. Then try to remove the valve by turning in the correct direction and allowing it to come out. Clean the corrosion from the parts and check the o-ring(s).Lube the parts and reassemble. ....
