Welcome to the crowd.
In most vases the diff. lock just gets stiff from lack of use. Usually just going slowly straight forward slowly and start / stop a few times frees it up.
If that doesn't work try giving it a little tug upwards while doing the above.

In order: -go back/forward with slight turns, -jack the rears clear and drive them both ways, -follow the locking control back looking for a disconnection. ....
