Ihave a two year old 4100 with 52 hours on it. Am thinking of adding a backhoe attachment. Any ideas on a good one for that tractor??

Your timing is good. A couple of days ago, me thinks, Mark H. posted a note about John Deere making a 46 model specifically for that tractor. Can not tell you how avaiable they are. Check with Your favorite dealer. ....

Thanks Mark. You can email me at andersonm at peninsula.wednet.edu. I am having a debate on this. Two years ago, someone tried to sell me a Woods three-point backhoe to go on the 4100. JD said it couldn't handle this. Do you know anything about the capability of the 4100? Is the new backhoe the first one it can handle? THanks..Mary ....

You were wise to shy away from that deal two years ago.
The 46 Backhoe is designed by John Deere specifically for the 4100, 4110 and the 4115. As best as I can determine at this early date, Deere has created a separate full length steel sub-frame to address the structural issues.
I think this is the first B/H designed with the 4100 in mind. I will shoot you a copy of what I have from Deere this A.M. ....

I'm in the process of seriously looking at a slightly used
4415, and I was quoted $6300 just for the 46 backhoe attachment.
My eyes and ears were unsure what they just heard....
Where is a BX22 when you need them most !! I'm based in
Long Island NY...just in case someone wants to sell me one.
