Maybe others have learned something new but I have nothing to add to my response to virtually the same question you asked here a year ago.

I have just bought one also. I missed one from Victoria I live in Newcastle and it would have been quite a haul up from Vic. A couple of weeks later one came up for sale on the Central coast (45 minutes away). I checked it out and bought it. It was from the second owner and is complete and fully operational. It came with the original instruction manual and service manual. You can contact me on 0412938231 regards Pete

Hi Pete
Paul from Norway here. I also have a HB-501, and wonder if you would be kind to either send me a PM or post here what kind of oil and the amount that goes on the engine, rear axel and the gearbox? This micro digger is fully functional, but if I should need parts, do you know of any selling?

Regards Paul

G' day Paul
Sorry for the delay in replying, been "off the air" for some time due to ISP problems. Back on at last, here is the information you wanted.
Engine crankcase MS class Engine oil #30 2.0 liters
Engine air cleaner Engine oil #30 To designated line
Transmission Gear oil #90 6.0 liters
Hydraulic oil tank Highland ? 50.0 liters
Steering gear box Gear oil #90 0.2 liters
I needed some seals for the rear stabilisers and had no trouble buying them from a hydraulic seal specialist. They are all standard sizes and types. I have pulled the carburetor off my HB501 as it was causing difficulties starting and had started dripping fuel, not a safe situation. The accelerator pump diaphragm has disintegrated and needs a new one. The carb has an insignia on it GK in a circle but I have had no luck in finding the manufacturer thru the internet, but I have found a man who makes parts for odd carbies and have spoken to him. He has told me to send the plunger and what's left of the diaphragm to him and he will make me a new one. I guess although new parts are next to impossible to obtain with determination and some research replacement parts can be manufactured or adapted. I have an original instruction manual, if you need any information regards Pete

G' day Norman,
You have not bought a dog. I bought one and have found it to be a fantastic machine given it's size. I have already posted on this forum, regarding the operation and running of it. I have an original SERVICE MANUAL and an INSTRUCTION MANUAL for the HB 501. I have been asked for a copy of them. This morning I obtained a quote to have both of these copied and compiled into a book each. The set-up cost for the service manual (120 pages) $35. Each copy after that would be $15. The set-up cost for the instruction manual (54 pages)$20. Each copy after that $10. Postage would cost $15 for both. If several owners are interested they could share the set-up costs and get them both for a reasonable price. Hope that is helpful. Best regards
