I was curious to know why people can't post in the correct forum? The articulated forum seems to be the dumping ground for those who don't take time to read. Stan's thoughts

Probably because it's the first topic on the list. A message also may very well default there if a topic isn't entered. I hear you though. I tend to review the 48-hour list and seldom go to the topics now. Awhile back when I was trying to come to grips with tractor things I would read everything I could about a subject, and I read entire topics. It doesn't give me much of a problem now, but I can see that off-topic discussions would be a problem for a person who wanted to focus on a particular subject. Of course, when I respond to a post, I seldom notice which topic it's under, so I probably compound the problem. Maybe it would good if the originators of discussions took a little care in assigning topics. ....

Thinking back on the first time I stumbled onto this board it is not such a big wonder to me why some people get out of the box postings. It took me a few visits to get things sorted out, the important thing was to get the message out and hope for an answer. Fortunately, there were many good responses from some very knowledgeable people. Another reason, hard for many of us to grasp, is anxiety. I have many older friends who have compact machines but fear this board because they feel uncomfortable trying to navigate through unknown technology. One older friend did just what TomG said, he hit "articulated" because he was just so overwhelmed by the experience of being online, working a computer, worrying about if his question was dumb, or if he spelled everything correctly, that he just wanted to get help fast so he landed on the first category he came to. He got his help, and doesn't that out-weigh the need to be in the right box, all of the time? ....

How far can you stretch a thread might be a good way to look at this. Or for those like me how many applications can be covered on one thread? Maybe it might be Attention Deficit Disorder. Or just a guy thing. I haven't seen to many sights that don't have the problem. ....
