I think diesel only lasts about 1 year before it starts to separate and gel up. I put fuel stabilizer in it to help prevent that. I don't know the nemae of it, but it is red and sold at any auto parts store. It is also not expensive.

I am planning on buying a John Deere 790 tractor. I can get it for $8900.00 brand new. It's a 2wd, 27 h.p. without PS. Is this a good price? What are pros & cons of this tractor. Does anyone know if I can have PS added to it aftermarket? Thanks for help. This will be my first Deere!

Roger, according to my local dealer, JD actually owns 51% of Yanmar, so maybe now JD builds Yanmar. Who knows?<br>

I am looking at buying an allis chalmers 5015 tractor .Can anyone give me any info on this model tractor( last year made,horsepower)I only know that it was not made in the U.S. The tractor is in very good condition,and has a grooming mower on back.Thanks.

rob if you have the loader on and it is going stait you may want to check and see if you have the differential lock engage . not shure about your tractor maybe a peddel or a lever

Seems to be true about the hydros holding up all 42,43,4400's -- my dealer said Deere<br>told him not to even sell the hydro anymore this year. They were already scheduling production runs<br>for August. Luckily, my JD4300, 4WD, w/ hydro has already been built -- shipped from GA last Tuesday,<br>expect to receive within the week. It mat be 3-4 weeks late but at least it appears that<br>it is coming.<br>Scott

Well, after waiting another week for JD to decide when the JD4300 I ordered is going to arrive I have found a dealer a little closer to me who has a couple of L3010's for about the same money ($17700 for L3010, hydro, 4WD, plus loader). I welcome any comments, suggestions, etc... BTW - The JD dealer says it should take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive once it gets into the warehouse which it should have done this past Tuesday (4/13/99). But they cannot confirm whether it arrived there or not! Can anyone say RUNAROUND?<br>Thanks,<br>Scott

Don't know much except they use a reliable Perkins diesel engine and Bosch fuel systems. There are 3 models available..... (1) 25, (2) 35, and (3) 45 -- the 45 is available in 4-wheel drive. Many Ford truck owners with Powerstroke diesels, along with Dodge Cummins owners rely on Shell Rotella T 15W-40 motor oil. My owners manual only lists SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40, meeting Classif. CC or CD, which the Rotella meets. Any advice on using the Rotella T 15W-40 in my L3710?

Are you aware that you can get a truck mounted sonowblower? They are hydraulically driven and let you take advantage of truck (comfort, speed, ease ,warmth) and snowblower (no banks of snow, not as hard on truck etc.) Also can still be a hero to freinds and neighbours They'll gladly pay you, and youll get lots of requests!
