I am looking at a 1987 1210 Ford 4wd with a 768A loader. It has 750 hours and appears to be in great condition. It also comes with a Ford 4' shredder, 4' box blade and cultivator bar. What is a fair price for this setup. Is it a good solid tractor. I have not messed around with one this small before. Thanks for your tips.Scott

Hi Scott,What are they asking for this setup? I used to own a '87 Ford 1100 (2 cylinder) diesel with 48" loader, 48" rotovator, 5' shredder, a middle buster, and a 6' blade. It handled all the implements very well with only 11 rated horsepower. The 48" tiller would bog down in soft deep soil. Everything was balanced and gave me no problems. I bought that whole setup for $7800 back then. Wish I had it now. If anything I would have gone for more horsepower. I believe the 1200 series has the 3 cylinder diesel and is rated at 12 or 13 HP? One of the benefits was that they were small enough to get through a 4' gate to a backyard or whatever. It came in very handy for small jobs. It does that same job as the big rigs, just takes a little longer. You may be able to tell I spent many happy hours on that little tractor. Earned some good cash on the weekends tilling small gardens, shredding tall grass and helping spread mulch or level gravel driveways and the like. If it is in good condition, and the price is fair, and understand that it is a small tractor, my opinion is to get it. ....

They are asking $5200 for the entire setup. Sounds like it might be a pretty good deal. What do you think.Scott ....

I just bought a used 1210 with a loader, 48" Woods mower deck, and a 4' back blade for $6200 and I thought I got a "great" deal. This tractor really works hard! My advice, buy it. It's a great price. ....
