My 2000 Expedition does the same thing. Dealership says they'd have to replace the entire instrument console. Goes out for a few seconds but always comes back.

Ken and Frank have it right. I have Woods 650 about the same vintage with the same PTO pump setup. You may need to use a small hammer to "help" it along -- just try to pull it straight back; otherwise, it will hang up if it is cocked at any angle. Mine still comes off with a fight today. I think I may have used a Wonder-bar (crow bar) to get it off the first time -- just make sure the pin is depressed.

I get Poison Anything bad if I come in contact with it, and I can feel it coming before it breaks out. If it is anywhere near my face, I proceed immediately to the Doctor's, do not pass GO, do not collect $200, and get a prescription for Prednisone (oral tablet). This is a super steroid used to deal with everything from Poison Ivy to sarcoidosis. It basically works like super-strength Benadryl (like someone else mentioned) and dries out the Poison Ivy from the inside out, rather than trying to dry it out with something topical (calamine lotion is useless and RhuliGel helps a little). Relief is almost immediate and and I am dried out (before any oozing) and starting to heal in 3-4 days, as opposed to 2 weeks or more of oozing before anything starts drying out by itself. It is a prescription but Prednisone has been around forever, and my script is usually less than $2. I have dealt with bad cases of Poison Ivy my whole life, and this is by far the best remedy I have found. Prednisone is not for everyone, especially people with liver problems, diabetics, or people who have problems with bleeding. Your doctor can let you know whether or not it is for you.

Umm, they are called "shear bolts" for a reason -- they are supposed to break instead of something more expensive like a gear box breaking. You SHOULD NOT be replacing shear pins or bolts with the hardest thing you can find -- they should be no more than a Grade 2 bolt.

Pulled the 6-way section valve out of my Woods BH650 today to install a seal repair kit to hopefully fix a slow leak. No seat time but will hopefully eliminate the small pool of oil on my shed floor after each time I use it! Was pretty warm here in the Northeast (40 deg) and actually made a lot less of a mess than I thought it would (had to disconnect 14 hoses!)

Don't own a Kubota but several Iseki compacts. Loader and/or backhoe installed on your machine? If the new HST unit is failing in the same manner as the previous, I'd guess your clutch housing/tunnel is warped/twisted or perhaps cracked. Since you bought it used, carefully inspect the tunnel for any cracks or signs of it having been welded or repaired. I would hope the service technician at the dealer would have noticed this while installing the new unit.<br>

From what I have read and models I was told to avoid, I believe the Kubota B6000 is such a machine -- PTO spins opposite, requiring model specific rear rotary attachments. Easy to see why this model wasn't sold for that long...

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this is the one Kubota model where the PTO spins backwards. If you plan on using any PTO driven 3PH implements, you need to find original Kubota attachments for this model. For this reason, most people avoid this particular model.

Not saying there is anything wrong with an OEM hoe... My comment was directed more towards the removal of the names that they OEM for is probably more an image/brand issue. I might be going out on a limb here, but I would fathom a guess that most JD backhoe owners would not know that their backhoe isn't made by Deere unless they followed forums like this or did the research.

Getting it cheaper thru the OEM manufacturer (if they sell to the public) is probably also another concern, as I have seen several examples of this on this board with NH owners being able to get the same exact hoe cheaper thru Rhino directly.

Another very large determing factor in tractor hydraulics vs PTO pump question is the output of the hydraulic pump on your tractor. The puny 3GPM on my tractor would just not cut it, as even the smallest backhoes require something on the order of 7-8 GPM to operate efficiently. You also need to subtract any other circuits that use the tractor hydraulics such as power steering. In some cases PTO pump is the only solution. In your case with a JD4300, I'm pretty sure the tractor hydraulic pump is large enough to drive their JD47 backhoe -- I'll let JD4300/4310 owners correct me if I am wrong.
