I use a landpride 2572AT (air tunnel) It uses high lift blades to raise the grass from a wheel track. I had to lenthen the lower arms so the mower had enough time to raise the grass up, works great but it is a side discharge, I mow faster than I should too.

Jim, Can you tell me what you give for your 1-14" plow? If my 4300 will pull a 2-14 I will have the other to sell.
Yard preperation- If you can rent a pulverizer to tear up your soon to be lawn it will level some at the same time. I bought one last fall and did several yards with it. I won't be tilling very often for seeding grass anymore.

While your thinging about different brands, you might compare the weights of all them, the heaver the better or dollor for pound. I have a bush hog SQ60 and it does a nice job for me, I bought it used (very little).

I started out with a JD 755 20hp,4x4. it weighed just under 2000 LBS. with turf's. it had no problem with a 50" tiller. tilling plowed ground I needed the loader for extra weight, but no problem. It pulled a 5' disc and a 1-14" moldboard plow. it handled the disc fine (with loader on) I could plow 6" deep without any problems unless the top of the ground was loose or very trashy. no chains either. you will be fine.

I have the same trailer you do 18' dove tail 8'6" wide. I haul tractor and implements with out a problem. If I get it loaded right when I cross bridges it rides like a baby buggy. Keep in mind I usally drive alittle faster than the posted speed limit, I drive mine on the trailer and stop with the loader bucket about 2' away from the front. If I put the tractor all the way to the front with out the loader on it will beat me and my truck to death. I now every one does things different, but this is how I do it.

I my area, there is alot of dealers selling Rhino brand. They are one of the best in durablity, but the cost is more aswell.

Jacks would help alot. It will keep the rear of trailer from squating down which in return will raise the end of your ramps. I use a block of wood just the right height so when the trailer is loaded there is no weight on the block. The rear will squat alittle but not enough to cause ramp problems. But with a block you will need to be on level ground to load and unload.

Craig, If you have ag tires you could probly hang enough weight on the back to work, or chains will help aswell. When I was growing up on a farm (before they came out with FWA tractors) they did work. The harder the digging the more you will spin. If you take your time you might be happy with it. I do very little loader work in 2WD, There is a big difference with a front axle to help you.

The higher the series # the heaver the equipment. A 1572 rear discharge weighs 594LBS while the 2572 weighs 670LBS. light duty and heavy duty frames. I priced a 2572 rear discharge last spring for $1850, so I thought I'd keep my 2572 airtunnel for awhile. I like it and it does a nice job. I think you found a bargin price even it it is a 1572 model. Landpride does have a web site and they will send out a product book and answer question's you may have. They are good folks. I ordered a GB 260 loader for my 4300. I felt the GB was heaver built ( due to the shipping weight difference) aswell as an extra torque tube. And it's hard to beat a two year warranty with a 30 day money back guarantee. But the main decideing point for me is the 260 is alittle stronger than the JD 430 loader. It was great talking to a engineer at GB to fing out lift cap. diffrences between JD ans NH I live about 2 1/2 hours from them. I have allways heard good things about GB loaders since I can remeber. There is alot of farm tractors with GB loaders on them in my area. To each his own.

I was just in a NH dealer not long ago. NH intrest is lower than JD or the local bank. the dealer also told me that he could buy down the intest rate but only until Dec 31. Intrest after but down was 5.5% for 5 YRS. I was pricing a TC29D. I wouls assume that any NH dealer could do this but I just talked to one NH dealer. You might check it out.

The slope is a good question. 8 degrees is not much what about a 20 to 25 degree slope? ( side ways & up & down)

I have installed a JD 70 on a 755, It went on good, it took me and my dauther about 2 hours. I will be installing a GB loader on a 4300 when it comes in. they do come with instuctions. If your looking at loaders you might check out GB loaders, they have a 2YR warranty,built heaver, come with or with out DSCV as well as quick tach buckets and there less money.

I USE A LANDPRIDE 72" AIRTUNNEL BEHIND MY 855 (24HP-19PTO) AND IT DOES A FINE JOB FOR FINISH MOWING. NOW IN TALL GRASS IT PULLS THE ENGINE DOWN BUT THEM ARE TIMES I SHOULD BE USEING THE BUSH HOG

I also have a 855, It started the other day when it was 15 degrees. if you are letting it preheat then there is a problem some were. there are 3 wires one for each cylinder for the preheater. (they unhook) use a test lite to see if your getting current to each heater (switch on ofcourse) when the lite on the dash goes out there still sould be current to the preheater for another 10 to 15 seconds.See if your problem is before or after this point.
