nothin for nothin being the 990 has one more cylinder has similar hydraulics/ 4wd with power steering and uses the same j20c/j20d hydraulic fluid I would do it just for peace of mind.!!!!!!! The Tech did mention that this change occured in manual OMLVU14371 ISSUE J2 790 PIN(592446-) DIDN'T REALLY GIVE A DATE. however you'r serial #'s will be different for the 990 anyway.

There was a dealer here in IN selling his last one for 11,400. It was just tractor and 60" MMM. I believe the MMM and the Loaders are a trade off price-wise so that should be near a super price.

I own the TC29D with SS , a 60" MMM and Industrial tires. I too have a very hilly yard (2 acres) and many trees to cut around. I also cut an additional acre with the deck raised as high as possible. The ind. tires give me plenty of traction although they can do some damage if the ground is wet, remember to go slow and don't turn sharp. I would never be able to get around all the trees with a 72" MMM and have no problems with the 60" deck. The front tires are the ones that will flatten the grass before the MMM has a chance to cut it, not the back.

Just read your post. I like the analogy. The 80% infielder analogy is exactly my target for the machine. Time is not my enemy. The BX22 looked much bigger in person than the photos made it look, so I feel better about it than initially.I like the universal utility capability. I don t know half what you know about technical aspects, so I take comfort in your answer. I just wanted to make sure it is a workhorse and not as many naysayers contend, a toy.

You have it right, however many of those that frequent this board seem to be a bit color impaired/biased in their opinions on tractors. We also of course have some dealers amd salespersons on here, of course their viwepoints will be a bit biased, and rightfully so.
You seem to be following the right course in your tractor selection. Check out the size and features that you need/want and pick a Japanese or Korean CUT. Who knows you might get a bit color blinded in your tractor color as well :)
INMHO. There is not a lot of difference between the Japanese and korean built compacts. The main difference seems to be price. Yes JD is a big company and long established and you can get most parts you need, however they seem to be more expensive on their parts than other brands too. JD,NH,Kubota,Kioti,Branson, Mihandra, and several variants I have left out All seem to be pretty good quality machines.

I guess anything can happen when it is improperly operated. I have a TC40D with a FEL and Woods 9000 hoe and dig in the boney dirt of New England. Digging is hard but operator is smart. You need to understand the limitations of your equipment and safe and proper operation along with preventative maintenance is the key to the longevity of your equipment. I have been in the heavy construction business and it does not matter what machine we talk about if used improperly it WILL BREAK! Yes even a CAT.

didn't those come with 75 loaders? Either way a JD loader wouldn't be any worse than an aftermarket. I think Great Bend might have even made the JD loaders for that.

With just a mower deck the price seems to be just a bit high, but not totally out of range. What do you intend to do with the tractor ? Mow the scrub and grass land ? If you plan on maintaining the 15-20 acres, you might want to consider a larger tractor 25-30 hp range. I am not sure if there is a loader available, but probably. I suspect that the 3 point hitch is a cat 0, you really want cat 1 if this is the case. PTO is probably transmission driven, meaning when you puch in the clutch , PTO and tractor movement stops. The transmission type of PTO is not the best of options, but can be lived with for most uses.

Just checked my TC40D with LA16 loader and have not found any marks. My unit is almost 2 years old and I operate it in the hilly / rough terrian of Northern New England. I'm always operating on unlevel surfaces but always try to level any load in my bucket for safety reasons. Are you sure about your information? La17 loaders only come on TC's with supersteer. Could it be an operator induced problem. If fact as I think about this I have a backhoe also and you would think that would cause a similar problem.

Let us know what New Holland says about this issue.

I bought a separate policy for my tractor with State Farm. I can't remember why exactly; I think that I wanted to be sure it was covered even if I was working somewhere besides my property, in addition to the usual fire, theft and vandalism that homeowners insurance provides. Anyway, my agent is a tractor guy, too and sold me an "Inland Marine" policy. I think that it is $10 or $15 a month.

COMPACT UTILTY TALK TURN INTO TIRE WAR, HAVENT HAD MY TRACTOR LONG BUT I CAN SAY THAT AS FAR AS TRACTION GOES R1:s are hard to beat! had to pull buddys tractor from being stuck twice as he has r4:s on a 4310. he did well when ground was froze but as temp rose R4:S were in in a spin. we were pushing brush along creek side.needless to say all the crap talk stopped about my little 790 with r1:s as i was retieving his 4310 with r4:s he he he!

On that JD cutter did you ask them how much it would cost without the green paint. JD buys there equipment paints it green and marks it up 60%. This is true to you JD lover's.
Howse makes a good cutter for cheap. Kodiak is another good cutter I have been happy to sell you should check them out a tough cutter and not very expensive. King Kutter has a ok cutter their paint doesn't last long and rust will come soon after that but the cutter itself isn't too bad.

Before I got my little NH tractor, Dad's MF135 about turned me against diesels. It's got a few hours on it, and has an exhaust system like a car, the tailpipe comes out just behind the rear axle. Any time you're hooking up an implement (cussing & sweating) it puffs diesel fumes right out on your face. Of course you have to leave it running for the inevitable moving back & forth, etc to get it hooked up.

If you are only digging 60',rent a backhoe.You should be able to complete your trench in a weekend at the most.If you are buying a tractor,purchase a FEL with it and use it for this project to backfill and you will have an implement you can use from now on.

Who knows, it just might be that good luck that eventually catches up with all of us. A hundred hours doesn't seem like much for appreciable condensation to build up. I guess it could if the hundred hours lasted was over a few years.

If the tractor had been outside in heavy rains it's possible for water to get into the TX through the shift boot. Water can collect on the TX top-plate and run into the TX through bad seals around the shifter. There's an inner and an outer seal. I haven't a torn boot on my 1710 I haven't gotten around to replacing. I rationalize that I don't really want to work the tractor in the rain and that if I had to, the canopy would keep water off the TX.

I used the Metkit metal and hydraulic kit. I didn't have any luck with the local steel wholesalers on buying metal - it just wasn't a big enough project to interest them. Both of the ones I talked to said they'd quote it for me, and I never heard back from either. Plus, I don't have any good way to precisely cut some of the holes required. I'm sure it would save some money to buy the steel locally, but factoring in the cut and grind time, the kit was the best for me. I spent about $2000 on the whole project.
When you order the plans, the Cadplans engineer will advise you about the correct size hoe for your tractor. From everything I've seen, the 808 should work fine on it.

With the hoe off does the 110 have a 540 PTO and a 3 pt.? On any scale be it big or small rear mount blower and front end loader on the same tractor make an awsome snow machine. I have an 8 ft. blower and an 8 ft. snow bucket on a Case 1070, (about 100 hp.), it really makes a neat oufit. The only difference between the 100 hp. unit and the 40 hp. unit would be more time to move like amounts of snow. Be careful where you point the snow chute, small rocks, etc. will clean out the windows, and smack up siding real fast.

The small Masseys are definately Japanese. Mostly Iseki and Toyosho. I would say you are about right with 23HP. Only the bigger Masseys have Perkins engines. I can't say what your market is, but I would keep looking. It's not uncommon to find small tractors that age with 1000 hrs or less.

There is a big difference between a 3010 and a 3130 and if they are the same price, get a L3130.(If it is reasonably priced to begin with of course.) Larger axles, better 3-pt, more gears in the GST, more lift capacity with the heavier loader. These new 3130's have been around for a few years in Japan so the bugs have been worked out. They both with have a Quick Attach/Detach Loader, but I think you mean a QA for the bucket. Whether it is directly from kubota or an aftermarket, I don't see much difference here. A skid steer style quick attach isn't a very complicated device.

I always crinch when I hear someone putting a snowblade on loader frame. I'm not sure if that is what you are doing, but the loader frame is simply not designed for the diagonal stress that an angled snow blade causes. There is a reason why most manufacturers don't offer a front snowblade through them that utilize the loader frame. If you are talking about a stand alone front blade then that is better. Of course a guy can move a lot of snow with a front bucket.

Anyway, I'm getting off the subject. Both are great machines, but for the same money it is no option. I'm not sure how much less the 3010 would have to be make it worth someone's while, maybe $1000 or so. Of course if they are gone, they are gone so I'm not sure you have much of a choice by the sounds of it unless you want used or another dealer has one.
