I have become spoiled using a front mount blower on a JD 770. Now I want to buy a 110 TLB. It has a non detachable loader and I am racking my brains, how to use a blower, without going backwards which would be a bit of a step backwards (no pun intended). There are some blowers that are 3PH and go either way. Provonost or something like that. Do they work? And does anyone know if there are any 3PH blowers that offset hydraulically like some flail mowers I have seen? Also, how is the performance of hydraulic snow blowers as on skid steers? Are they second rate, as I might imagine???

Thanks

Tom

You wouldn't get to far where we live with the pull type blower, don't know of any offset styles. ....

I've heard of hydraulicly powered blowers for skid steers - might get one to fit in place of the bucket. The 110 should have enough flow to power one properly. ....

Seems the front bucket mount snow blower(hydraulic) as used by the Skid Steers should work if your bucket is quick tach as some of the other Deere buckets are.
The skid-steer sno-blowers I am familiar with work well, but its a bit frustrating when its so hard to tell if they are filling (plugging) up with snow. The only and first clue is there is no snow coming out the chute. By then, its too late to back off and let it discharge the snow before advancing. It is helpful to be able to reverse the blower and hopefully get the slug out of there. Careful operation with some experience is the key to getting one to work smoothly, which isn't too hard to do. ....

Thanks for the input. The 110 does come with a standard skid steer quick attach system, but I am still skeptical. Theres only 40 or so engine hp to start with and I can't imagine squeezing that hp down those skinny aux hyd lines down the loader arms. Not to mention running it through the electro-hyraulic valve on the joy stick. And what about heat build up on hyd snow blowers? One dealer says it's possible, but have not done it. I would want to see it before I believe it. Also, it's one thing cleaning a couple of inches off a side walk and another clearing a deeply drifted long driveway and snow plow residue at the road. Does anyone have any thoughts on the 110 at all. I had a demo in the summer and although I love the machine, felt that it was only a 4600 with a slightly heavier yellow skin.

Thanks

Tom ....

I can't comment on the 110 or a 4600 for that matter. Heat build up in the hydraulic oil might be an issue though. Hydraulic motors take full-flow under load pressures, which is the condition assumed for a loader. Small diameter lines would have more friction and contribute produce more heat. Larger diameter lines or an external oil-cooler might solve a heat problem.

I know the 40hp down the lines is just an illustration. I will observe that the max HP taken by a pump is determined by the relief valve setting. I've never been sure but my impression is that more of an engine's HP is available to a pto than to the aux hydraulics. Anyway, it's going to be quite a bit less than the engine HP.

I use a 3ph blower for about 500' of gravel drive plus parking area. I might say that I'm unspoiled, but the real reason is that I don't have a mid-pto. Besides I don't want to give up the loader bucket, which remains very useful despite having a blower. Not trying to talk anybody out of being spoiled though; it is one of life's pleasures.

Nighhawk,
I own a 110,and it is leaps and bounds beyond the 4600.The only part the 110 and the 4600 share is the floormat, other than that completely different. The power that the loader and hoe have on the 110 is awesome, the hydraulics are silky smooth, and the visibility is fantastic no matter where you are looking.I looked into mounting a skid steer snow blower and unfortunately the 110 does not have enough hydraulic flow to run a blower,it only has 12gpm to the loader arms and a blower calls for considerably more. ....

Provenost does build one that attaches to the loader arms that is hydraulic drive. They offer pto pumps to run it. It comes with a pump and tank of 25 gallons and in widths of 64 and 74". You might want to look at that one. ....

With the hoe off does the 110 have a 540 PTO and a 3 pt.? On any scale be it big or small rear mount blower and front end loader on the same tractor make an awsome snow machine. I have an 8 ft. blower and an 8 ft. snow bucket on a Case 1070, (about 100 hp.), it really makes a neat oufit. The only difference between the 100 hp. unit and the 40 hp. unit would be more time to move like amounts of snow. Be careful where you point the snow chute, small rocks, etc. will clean out the windows, and smack up siding real fast. ....
