Hi I just finished blowing a 20 inch dump10 acre property 4 hrs. Old old McGee 6.6 ft. Open gearbox. Can’t kill them unless you pick up firewood….. power 95 HP Kubota I don’t use shear pins on the drive shaft but keep property very clear of stuff. Pin on cross shaft for auger is only 5/16 bolt and never broke it.

Big thing is don’t push it, once snow starts to build in front, gear down. Have hydraulic adaptation or “abomination” for Shute. If using the wire crank be sure to use more than minimum turns and leave done slack. Shute likes to wobble around to work right. Check bearings on box. Bit of slop ok but likely the retainers as are just pressed steel.

Ha Ha yeah that might be a great idea. Well it sure was cold out for the test. After an hour + of time on the Tractor in 10 degrees I would say it was a little bit better that without. My hands always sweat when wering the nitrile gloves, no sweat in 10 degrees though.

I would say it is good enough to repeat another trial.

Had both gloves on but right hand operates the levers and was the coldest.

I have a 1983 Ford/New Holland 4 WD tractor, the transmission did not making any sound but now when pull up to engage the 4 WD lever it will not engage. Has anyone had a problem with the slide lever under the cap where the handle is located? What other problem should I look for?

That is a picture of an Industrial tire tread which is a cross or mid point between Ag and Turf. Chains do not help as much as when put on Turfs because the chains get hidden in the side lugs.

I know it has been a long while, but this afternoon my tractor was working and then the gas pedal just stopped working. I would hit it and there was just no transfer of power. It sounds like your problem. Do you remember what the issue was?

I know this is an old post but I have recently bought a 2012 DK40SE with 250 hrs. It too has an intermittent clatter ( like marbles ) at 15 - 2000 rpms. Driving me nuts. What did you finally end up doing with your tractor clatter?

I have a E204, great machine Great little machine. I have not found a manual for the E202/4 , but there are manuals for similar US models like the MF1010/1020. The E1802/4 uses the same engine, probably an updated version of the E202/4. I have also found that ALLIS-CHALMER 5020/5030 is almost the same tractor as the E202/204.

If I have this right -- it will start and run with the plunger out of the shutoff solenoid? You have swapped solenoids with no improvement? If that's the case, then I see one of two possibilities. A) you have two defective solenoids. B) you have no power to the solenoid when the starter is engaged. I have seen that before on S model tractors. You may need to do some creative wiring.

I am still here. Do not know much about the newer gators but the old 6x4s used to do that. I do not know of an oil that helps but I do know the hotter the motor is the less the condensation. I had a guy with an HPX that had to almost cover the front of his radiator to clear his up. I do not know if the new air cooled gators have a temp gauge if they do not would be risky to try to limit the cooling. So heat in the motor will limit condensation. The harder you run the motor the less condensation you will have.

Could be a couple of things.

One of the worst would be that you are getting coolant into the cylinders. This could be a bad gasket or a crack.

Another one could be the fuel system allowing uncombusted fuel to be blown ou the exhaust.

I would check your coolant level first, nad if OK I would add a Cetane booster to your fuel first to see if it improves.

Thanks for the kind words and positive feedback. For snow removal I use my loader bucket. By over curling it, I can get the back area to make ground contact with the front edge skimming about an inch above. Out in the country with farm fields all around, snow drifts get about 3 feet deep for a long distance (50 yards to 100 yards or so). A rear blade doesn't work for me. The snow depth is too deep, pushing the traditional way creates so much pressure that the shoes bend.
