I have a new NH T30 with a fixed/clevis hitch and I want a swinging draw bar that sticks out. Is there a bar made that will insert into the clevis hitch to pull things or a conversion kit of some kind.
The fixed clevis hitch is kind of useless to me unless I can find someway to convert to a long drawbar.
Any ideas?

A swinging and extendible drawbar is standard on my Ford 1710, which is sort of an uncle once removed to your TC. The drawbar attaches to a pivot point on the cases ahead of the axles. If a pivot point isn't already on the cases, I don't think its too realistic to put one there, but I don't really know what's be available. Dealers should know what's available. You'd think that something would be around that allows people with other types of drawbars to use pull type pto implements. ....

I've looked at the TC30 before, but didn't notice the drawbar setup. In other ways, it looks just like my TC29, which has a swinging drawbar. I would think the dealer could get you one; or look at a TC29 that has one so you can see the proper attachment points, and make one.

I don't recall seeing a drawbar on a 'modern' CUT that was NOT a combination fixed & swinging unit.
Usually there is a pin which fixes the drawbar in place, when you remove it the drawbar slides out to where there is a second hole. When you put the keeper pin back into this hole the drawbar is now much longer and swings freely.

That is too much money. Ought to be a cheaper way to have a draw bar. Hmmnnnnnn not much good at this sort of thing. Wonder why NH decided the TC30 needed a clevis.
Ought to be a draw bar that could slide into the cleis and be pinned with the clevis pin. It would swing freely and one would have to be careful. (It is the little things that drive you up a wall.)

My BX does not have a drawbar, just a 3/4 inch hole on the frame for a clevis or a trailer ball.
The 4100 has a drawbar that slides in and out. If it is a swinging drawbar it does not swing very much.... less than an inch side to side at the longest setting.
What is the normal amount of swing? ....

My TC45 drawbar will swing about six inches or so. I have to take the drawbar off for the backhoe subframe.
I use a drawbar accessory in the 3PH. It is not for pulling a plow, but I have never bent it. I am using the HD Cat 1 unit from Northern.
I am sure that they took the drawbar off the TC30 to make the price more competitive. ....

Thanks - I have a drawbar for the 3PH that I use with a tractor ball. Certainly I could use on of those holes (off-set even) to attach to. I believe that idea will solve my problem. It even gives me up and down adjustment. Since I am not pulling anything of weight (just a drag to even the ground after tilling) it should work fine.

Most CUT owners don't really need a "swinging" drawbar. A fixed drawbar point is fine for most things. Swinging drawbars are good when you have a heavy draft load like a drawbar pulled plow. When you turn the tractor, the pivot point for the drawbar is between the rear wheels.
When I was growing up, implements that were pulled by the drawbar were more common. But, for a CUT I would stick with 3PH implements.
For items like feed grinders and other implements drawn behind the tractor that use a PTO shaft, you don't really want to use the "swinging" feature anyway. Swinging would allow the alignment of the PTO shaft to be way off. ....

cooleydd, I have a TC30 and I took an standard ball-mount for an automotive hitch and made a nice fixed drawbar that extends out about 8 inches farther back and two inches higher than the 'standard' clevis hitch. The cool part is that you can attach and remove as needed with a simple pin. I am sending pictures to your email address.
