I recently got a letter from New Holland suggesting that I extend the
warranty I got when I purchased the tractor. The current warranty will
expire in July. The tractor was purchased new in July 2001.
Is this a good idea?

Have you used the original warranty very much, just weigh the cost of the 'free' repairs you might get against what it will cost you to buy the warranty.

Generally speaking, if something was defective, etc., it would have shown up by the time your original warranty expired.

Best of luck. ....

If you are a distance from the dealer, check to see if he is going to charge you for hauling it for warranty repairs with that extended warranty. Sometimes it is cheaper to repair it yourself than pay for the haul job, unless you do some major damage to something. ....
