I own a 30 year old post hole drill which is 3 point hitch do not know name probebly could weld on to old blades instead purchase new suggestions appreciated

Are the current cutting edges welded or bolted on? Would think you could take the old ones to dealership or two and find some that would fit.

Just be aware that the blades will be really hard steel and the auger itself is likely regular mild steel, hard to weld the two together unless you're pretty handy with a welder.

Been years since I studied welding and was in major welding shop. (Not welder but inspector.) Does the harden steel need to be preheated? Memory is not certain. ....

No, they're not that critical. The big issue is the dissimilar metals. The flighting is mild steel, the cutting edge would be either cast iron (in cheaper models) or very wear resistant steel.
Either way, good old 6013 just won't work very well.
