When out to my shop and my 3032e had oil on the floor that had run down the tire rim from the top of the spindle where it connects to the front housing. I guess the seal is out. The jd. dealer said it would take them around five hrs. to fix .Is it hard to fix or am I better off taking it to them to do. I only have 375 hrs. on it but its out of warranty. Thanks

I am only going to assume the front axle is identical to my 4310. That much said, my right hand one was leaking, so with the seal and tube of sealant in hand I took mine apart and replaced the seal following the service manual directions. I didn't keep track of the time, but I'm sure it wasn't even close to five hours.
After removing the ring of capscrews around the outer edge of the housing it won't just fall apart, they use a sealant rather than a gasket there, and it hangs on really tight. It does take some time to completely remove all the old sealant to have a dry surface for the new sealant you will apply when re assembling the housing.
The old seal and the spindle shaft showed no signs of wear or seal breakage, so it was hard to determine why it leaked. Being I had it apart I replaced the seal, but with a good cleanup it would have been hard to distinguish the old seal from a new one.
I'm going to guess that was at about 350 or 400 hours, now with about 950 hours it is starting to show some leakage again at the same spindle.

Just my experience.

Hardwood my right spindle is the one leaking . So all I need to do is pry that cap off that is sealed on, then take the snap ring out and the spindle will drop down , then remove old seal and put the new one in then put it back to gather . All I need to buy is the seal? Thanks ....

OK, I think my assumption that our front axles are identical must be wrong.
I am assuming that yours ia powereed front axle, is that correct?
Maybe put my prior advice on hold till I do a bit of research.

I looked for a parts picture on the JD parts site, but didn't find any information on a 3032 front axle, it must be too new yet. Perhaps another poster who has a service manual or some experience with a front axle for your tractor could help you better than I. Your descriptions of removing a top plug and a snap ring doesn't fit the sequence of disassembly of my front axle spindle. Yes, mine has a really nasty snap ring to remove and replace but only after the housing is apart and laying on the bench. I remember wanting an extra snap ring in case the original one went kazing landing somewhere that I'd never find it back, but the dealer didn't stock one.
Sorry, I wish I could have been more help.

I assume the seal you have leaking is #6. The repair procedure starts with removing cap#1 and then snap ring #2, shims, bearing and gear #3, 4, and 5. Then remove cap #24 from the bottom. Then remove snap ring, shim, bearing and gear #2, 3, 4, and 16. Then you can access snap ring #15 which is what holds the spindle housing on. ....

OK, now I understand much better after seeing the parts blowup picture.
Yes, oure front axles are basicly identical if not identical.
I never had a leak where you do, mine leaked around the seal # 21 on the main hub shaft # 22.
I've never had the vertical shaft with the small bevel gears out, just the outer half of the casting with the ring of small capscrews around the outside holding the bigger bevel gear that is on the hub shaft.

Sorry for the mixup.

That's weird timing. If you are mechanically inclined it's pretty straigth forward. JDGreen did good again.

My 4400 leaked new just out of warranty changed no problem. Pushing 11 years and 2000 hrs leakin again. Will add oil until spring. ....
