I have an L4150 that a construction company had previously, they'd acquired from a school district at an auction. The old tractor has 3900 hours on it, doesn't look great - but runs like a champ? It's 2WD, no shuttle, no loader. Cosmetically it could use a little sprucing up!

There's a whole lot of "Depend's On" factors in determining a fair price. Cosmetics don't make anything run better but do suggest what kind of care a tractor may have had.
What do you want this tractor to do for you? If you plan to add a loader it being a two wheel drive is a real negative. You can live withlut a shuttle, but having a loader with a shuttle is a real plus.
This tractor does have a value but I'm not going to venture a guess, others here are more up to date on values.

Well thanks, I fully understand lots of things make the price fluctuate. I believe it to have been mechanically well cared for; definitely by the construct co and after them, by me. I've replaced things you expect to, nothing major. I'll be buying a larger tractor within the next 5 yrs w/4wd & FEL. It does what I have to have it do currently, I wouldn't add a loader it. It needs a grill, lights, paint, etc. Trying to decide whether to keep it and spend any money on it, in which case I would then retain it after purchase of the larger tractor. ....

You could find who does construction-equipment auctions in your area, and ask if they know who repaints them. One good guy with a sandblaster and sprayer can double the selling price at a small cost. ....

Sorry, I misread the original post. I thought you were looking to buy this tractor, instead of selling it.

Not a problem Frank, I appreciate your input! I didn't even mention trim pieces it needs, a few knobs, etc. I've heard really some positive things about the L4150 being a real sound machine. Thanks again, Bret ....

My father in law told me one tractor by it self it about worthless or something along that line. Not 100% accurate but sometimes a second machine whether smaller or what ever can sure be a benefit to the main machine as it is used to haul, move or what ever things is needs for the main tractor or to pull from bogs or what ever. ....

Bret, for me the second and much smaller tractor keeps my main tractor free. When you are doing some jobs you just need a second rig. You need one to say level dirt as the other is moving dirt or disking it or you need a sprayer or spreader to run ahead of a disk or what ever. It can be a saver in just preventing the switching of implements back and forth. Another twist to the second tractor is it makes it easier to ask for help...
