Will the JD2305 handle a 5' bushhog? Is there enough HP in the PTO?

According to the JD website, they offer an RC20 rotary cutter. I could not find any specs such as width on it--if I had to guess they may double the 20 to get 40"--dunno.
Their tractor spec says the Category 1 hitch is "limited".
In my opinion a 5' brush hog CAN be powered by it, BUT can it safely lift and transport it? My 5' weighs about 500 lb. actual weight.
Hitches are rated for lifting a certain amount away from the lower link pivots---exceed that and you now have leverage--and with a brush cutter--a whole lot of leverage.
My 33hp CUT weighs around 3,200 and I have weights up front too--and I can still lieft the front tires off the ground under the right conditions. ....

Thank you! I have the front end loaded on it so I don't think it will lift the front. I was concerned about the HP on the PTO as its a 18hp PTO. ....

Sure the PTO will turn it. But you won't be able to ask too much from it, as in low-cut mowing at high ground-speed up an incline. Your tractor could run a 6' or a 3'. They'll cut at about the same speed (twice as many passes with the 3' but twice as quickly).
If your hitch won't lift it (as mentioned), it won't be easy to service or transport. However, you could get a couple of guys to help it up, and use the hitch lock to hold it. ....

As a rule of thumb for rotary cutters, you can cut 1 foot for every approx. 5 PTO horsepower. So a 5 foot bush hog should take about 25 hp at the PTO hp.
If however you are cutting fairly light stuff it should be OK. You won't go very fart in heavy stuff.

An old auctineer (RIP) that used to have about every farm auction around here 30 yrs. ago always said when he was selling an old H Farmall or B John Deere.
"They will do just as much work as the big new ones, just takes a bit longer".
You can shift down to make the tractor handle about any size mower as long as the three point it will lift it safely. ....

I have a 2305 and found a used john deere 5' rotary mower. Most of the time, the tractor has plenty of hp to run it, but it is almost just to heavy. I have to have my loader bucket on the front for sure when using it and also had to slightly modify how i hooked it up as the "limited" hitch that the 2305 has, wont pick it all the way off the ground. I just got a 4' and am getting rid of the 5' cause its just too much work for the 2305. I would say 2320 minimum for a 5 footer might cause less headaches. I dont mow that much anyway and the extra 1' wont really matter. ....
