I an new to this forum. Found it while researching new tractors. Would like some advice on a new tractor.Just bought a place on the "Rock" in eastern Canada. it's not huge but enough to need a tractor. Will need something to cut grass(1 acre), plow snow (350 long drive two lanes wide), have a spot for a garden but neighbor behind has draft horses for now. Am thinking of NH GT 22A, JD X540 or Kubota GX2360

You're moving east? That's different!

There have been several queries much like yours, answered thoroughly by several experts, that you should be able to dig up. Meanwhile, in brief, dealer is important, any of those choices are good, 4WD, turf tread maybe with a set of winter chains. Front loader is handy but costly and not a good "get later" DIY option. Mid-mount vs rear-attach mower each has pros and cons, as does snow blower vs blade. If you'll do a lot of blowing, ask about a front mount.

AD,

I assume you meant a Kubota BX2360? A BX2360 would be all you would need for what you have described. Get a front end loader (FEL) and a rear blade, along with a mid mount mower (MMM) and you will be surprised at what it will do for you.

On the tires, there is lots of disagreement here on the Board, but if I were you I would get turf tires. They are just a better all around tire. Many believe a turf tire is better on snow than a bar tire.

Good luck, and hang around this Board because you will learn a lot from some really savvy guys!

Yes I meant a Kubota. I will most likely be doing some lanscaping with it too. The yard is surrounded by trees and the occasional one may blow down or have to be taken out, so I am leaning toward the Kubota with its 4WD. Snow down there is very heavy so a snow blower and blade are also in the works ....

yeah I finally made a decision. I had to decide between the JD 2305 and the Kubota 2360. The dealerships let me move a little snow around with each one. The Kubota had enough power to take up 2" of snow off pavement. The JD wouldn't do it. Called a dealer to get the whole package. A 54" muching deck, a 47" blower and a 48" blade. When talking to the two dealers closest I didn't get a good feeling about the customer service on the JD. The Kubota offered all kinds of service. He was willing to meet after hours or on a weekend to close the sale. The JD I had to call back just o get a price. The attitude seemed to be here's the price take it or leave it. Looking forward to having it. ....
