Does anyone have any knowledge of the M7030 Kubota Series? We have a early 1990's 7030 series orchard tractor. It is a "DT" (Dual Traction) 7030 which is clearly stated on the hood as a M7030DT-N model. Because of our good luck with this tractor we were interested in purchasing another one (used from farm about 40 miles away). The M7030N tractor that is for sale doesn't mention anything about "DT" on the hood of the tractor and nothing in the serial number indicates it is a "DT" model so we are unsure of the claim from the owner that it is a "DT" 7030 model. We have heard that some of the early 1990's 7030 model's have problems with the 4WD and we really don't want to take a chance on a model different than a DT like the one we have.

Bottom line is whether or not anyone knows if a "DT" 7030 model may not be identified like ours is on the hood of the tractor with the letters "DT" in the description?? HELP!

Ed

Ed, first off, I've never heard of any problems with any of them, let alone from machines getting screwed up through negligence. The biggest one is swapping tires for ones that are 'nearly' the same size, or running them in 4WD all the time, but those are the two main ones.

As for the designation, "DT" is something that is more likely to do with changes in marketing more than anything else, the factory calls anything with 4WD a 'DT' machine. Some years back however I do recall them actually using it in a model name.

Best of luck. ....

You may wish to visit Kubota's web site on the model. They do a good job showing the time frame each model was built and what the letters stand for. Is it possible the hood has been repainted or decals replaced or such. But it sure would seem easy to tell if it were two wheel drive or four wheel drive. kt ....
