My new 790 has been great until today, I went to start it and the battery was dead. Jumped it, it started fine, idled for a while, then, I pulled it out, and backed up about 10 foot, and it just died. Tested the battery and found it to have a dead cell. Went and got a new battery, put it in, and now it will turn over strong, but won't even attempt to start. Getting fuel, (checked from all lines up to injectors). Is there a reset or something?

The 790s a pretty dog simple machine. I can't imagine there would be any complicated electronics involved.

If she is turning but not burning I would look to the fuel system. Maybe you need a new fuel filter? Perhaps when working under the hood you dislodged a wire to the fuel pump?

Maybe check your owners manual for fuse locations and test each one.

Definitely check the fuses, but also be sure the battery is connected properly. If the battery terminals are connected backwards, the engine will still crank but the timer delay module for the fuel shut off solenoid will not operate.

My Blue did this. Somewhere in the electronics it would not power up the fuel solenoid. So I found a similar circuit that truned on at the same time as the solenoid should and wired right into it. Works fine now. ....

Greg,
It turned out to be a 3 or 5 amp fuse (can't remember which). It's the 2nd fuse up from the bottom, on the left. That is also the perfect fuse to take out to keep someone from stealing it if you leave it parked somewhere! It won't go anywhere.

Mine was a fuse, I don't remember which one, but I read the manual, and found which one it was, very simple to find. Sorry for not answering sooner ....
