Just got the unit I traded in my 4100 for and it has a few issues i want to resolve.

1) Anyone have the Technical manual for a 4310 and can tell me where the lines run for the back lights on the ROPS? I got on side out and it is definitely not getting power as the bulbs work on the other side. I want to trace the wires back to see where the power stops. I orderd the CD ROM version and it is on its way, but I wanted to see if I could get some info on it prio to the TM arriving.

2) Also, the infamous 4310 stuck tilt wheel issue is also present and if anyone has any ideas on dislodging the stuck steering whell, please let me know!

Nurady; I've got a tech manual but I'll let someone else on the board who also has one get into the electrical issues, I'm basicly a bulb changer, beyond that I'm lost. The Mickey Mouse tilt wheel deal- is the plastic loop sort of thing that comes out of the housing in front to the steering wheel there at all? Usually one side of it breaks off but you still can carefully pull it enough to change the wheel position, if it is totaly gone then you're kind of up that old fammilar stream without a paddle. You will need to take the wheel off, pull the cover for this gizmo off then you can get in there to either fix it or adjust it to where your comfortable and put it back together without fixing it. Things may have changed, but last I knew Deere still replaces the Sub Mickey Mouse type parts with the same junk parts that some high dolllar engineer got a big bonus for saving Deere 5 bucks a unit instead of using steel that would'nt break, so really no point in wasting the money on replacement parts unless they now offer something that won't break. Frank. ....

Which side is not working? Is it grounded properly? Do you have a meter you can use to measure resistance to ground on the black wire and compare it to the working side? Once we know you have a good ground you can work through the wiring. The gray wire is common to both sides and connects through fuse F8. The left and right orange wires are not common so if it's grounded properly that would be the next thing to check. The right tail light wires connect under the seat. If you remove the seat all the connectors should be visible. The left tail light connectors are somewhere on the left side in the area where the ROPS come down. It's hard to tell exactly from the diagram. ....

Frank, Thanks, I actually got it to move and wow you all are so right it is really chinzy! I put it back to where the dealer had it and that is fine. I went out to plow with the Loader forked blade and man was that an experience. I was having trouble getting the blade down and finally figured out it was that the blade was not level. So I am either going to get it leveled and/or get a rubber blade (either make it myself out of Horse Matt or buy the one Deere offers.) Electrical, I am still working on it. ....

The right side is not working. Checking on the ground and I plan to check the connection from beneath the seat to the light. When you say "remove the seat". Do you mean flip it up or do I take it out? ....

You probably have to take the seat out. There are a bunch of connectors sandwiched between the seat base and the mechanicals underneath. You need to remove an electrical connector, pop out the plastic retainers at the base of the seat boot, then lift the boot to remove four cap screws (two front and two rear IIRC), then the entire seat lifts out. I did it once to install a trailer connector and it wasn't too bad. The worst part was reinstalling the seat with a sore back. I didn't bother replacing the plastic boot retainer snaps, it didn't seem necessary. ....

Yeah, i was on the line a minute ago with my local Dealer's Service MGR and he indicated the same. I am gonna try and trace it to where I need to take the seat out and see if it is something easy. I am also going to verify the ground is right too.

Looks like my blade issue may be related to an overinflation of my right rear tire. i was looking at it while on the line with the Service MGR and he told me to check that first and visually it does look like there is too much air in the right rear. So i gotta check that too. ....

I'm pretty sure the tractor comes pre wired for those optional lights. I know it does on my 4610. There's a plug in type connector pre wired at the lower inside of the ROPS. It could be there's a bad connection there? At least it's a good place to start. Billy ....

Got the light issue resolved, it was a pulled connector,. The light is working now. The issue with the blade was not the tires as I checked the inflation on all of them and they are all correct. I will put the bucket back on to see if the issue is on the loader arms or if it is on the Blade. If that does not tell me anything, i will probabbly get my local dealer to handle it on the checkout visit I am planning to have soon. Some bucks on that one :-( ....

Well, i reversed the blade and initially it still had the issue, but after I had to climb up on the loadr forks and stand on the attachment mount on the loader frame, I noticed that the blade's edge seemed to be flat on my garage floor! Hopefully that sticks! ....
