While running my 4710 CUT the other day, I tried to engage the speed control. When I did, it would not engage and I got a maintenance flash code of Long, Short, Long, Short.

Can anyone tell me what that code translates to in good old English?

A couple days later I used the unit again and this time the speen control engaged without issue. I was sure glad cause I had a lot of mowing to do.

Thanks in advance for the help.

John

I don't have a tech manual that covers the 4710 but on it's little brother 4210/4310/4410 that's an eHydro code that indicates a Brake Switch Input. That probably doesn't help much. ....

To follow up on my own post, maybe that makes sense. The Brake switch is an input to the cruise control. Diagnostics recommend testing/adjusting the brake switch to make sure it returns to full release (off) position when the brake is disengaged. ....

kwschumm,

Thanks for the response, the dealer originally said there was no code long, short, long, short but after checking some other sources he found that there was indeed a code like this. His discription matched yours to a T. Looks like I will need to take a look at the switch or remember to have it checked when I take it in next time.

This site is the best when it comes to questions.

Thanks again,

John ....
