I recently purchased a 2004 JD 790. I have 10 wooded/pasture acres. I have clumps of willows and brush 5ft tall. Is there a cutter that would work to help clear a keep clear my ground. I'm a novice and would appreciate any advice on the subject. Thank you!

How thick are the trunks on those willows? I'm a big fan of the JD MX5 cutter and cut scotch broom (pretty tough stuff) up to 2 1/2" thick easily with my 4310. It's the heaviest cutter JD has that's rated for use with the 790. It's more expensive than most, but remember it comes with chain guards and a slip clutch so factor those costs in when you're shopping. ....

I agree the MX5 is a good bushhog. I've had mine for a year and a half and anything the frontend loader can push over it has cut it up! It is heavy for the 790 so you will need to mount your FEL or add weights on the frontend of your tractor. Well worth the money. ....
