i am getting ready to purchase a 2305 62"mmm, rear blade, and i am thinking about the fel...i can't justify using it very much...i do have arounnd 5 acres with about 500 ft. of driveway...can you use the fel for removing snow? or would the rear blade be a better alternative for the snow...is the fel worth the extra money?

Most of us use an FEL like a powered wheelbarrow. Seems like I'm always pushing, moving, filling or carrying something. I also have a rear blade. If the snow gets too deep, the rear blade can't handle it because of its short height. I use both for snow removal. The FEL works for piling it high. I also use it for the final passes by tilting it slightly downward and backdragging. I would skip the rear blade before skipping the FEL. If you have an FEL you will need some sort of weight at the rear. I use my backblade instead of a ballast box. Would a Z-turn mower and large walk behind snow blower fit your needs? ....

i don't think they would work for me...i have a pretty good bank that i mow that requires the 4-wheel drive...they say the fel loaders are easy on and easy off...are they safe when stored in barn? i have three young children that like to play in the barn... ....

Be careful mowing a steep bank. Are you planning to drive up and down the bank or sideways? I prefer only mowing down the bank if possible. The stability of a stored loader and possibly having children crawl all over it is not a good situation. Either teach the children to stay away or put a secondary holding device like a chainfalls from a beam above to secure it. Doing both can't hurt! ....

i can mow the bank up and down mostly...but a few places require only down...yeh, the children will have to taught to stay away from the fel when in storage...i also like the idea of a safety tie of some sort...thanks for your advice... ....

I'm with yooper, the FEL is like a swiss army knife. We use it a lot - moving trees, loading or unloading the truck, moving heavy items down to the basement (firewood, water softener salt), backdragging and smoothing dirt, lifting other implements to work on 'em, etc. You'll probably use it a lot more than you think. ....

Go with the FEL (make sure it is the 200CX which is quick-tach) and you will never regret the decision -- even when it comes time to trade-up or in!

TAKE IT FROM ME YOU WLL LOVE THE LOADER. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A SORE BACK AGAIN. I HAVE TWO HERNIATED DISC AND I HAVE NOT HAD BACK PAIN SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE LOADER. I JUST SOLD MY 2210 WITH LOADER AND NOW GETTING THE 2305 JUST TO STAY CURRENT. THE RE SALE VALUE ON THE 2210 MADE IT A NO BRAINER TO GO TO THE NEWEST MODEL.YOU WILL USE IT MORE THAN YOU THINK. TO ME, THE TRACTOR IS USELESS WITHOUT THE FEL. IF YOU GET THE FEL. IT WILL BECOME YOUR BEST FRIEND. ....

If you never had a tractor with a FEL then you may not know what your missing. I recommend going with the FEL. Once you have it you will wonder how you ever worked with out it. But don't forget to get some form of rear end ballast for the tractor. Wheel weights, ballast box, fluid in tires, or a heavy rear attachment. If you don't ballast you won't get the full range of possible uses of the FEL ....
