I have a lot of good experience with the Prairie Dog 7.5 hoes, but not the 10.5. At 2000 pounds, the 10.5 is stoutly built. To use a 3-pt hitch, my feeling would be that you want to have cat 2 and a 10,000+ lb tractor. A subframe is going to be WAY better and safer, as noted in numerous other posts.

Building custom subrames is fairly easy...I am working on my third Prairie Dog 7.5 frame now. A fourth for my Kioti is on the drawing board.... ....

Oops, I did not mean that I have had any bad experience with the large Prairie Dog, the 10.5 footer. I have NO experience with it. The 10.5 is comparable to the Woods Groundbreaker 1050, not the much lighter GB9000. ....

looking at the kubota backhoe m4711 used for $7800 a 2002 model .which is the same as the bradco 611 hoe .has a lot of power but people complain about hard it is to get on and off, have to put down one outrigger to climb on. so I looked at the woods bh9000 more user freindly but less power. the prairie dog 10.5 has no sub ,and I do want easy on and off hard choice alot of money so I must be sure of what to buy kully ....

I can tell you from personal experience that the buckets are not interchangeable between the Prairie Dog and Woods backhoes. I ordered the 8" bucket for my BH7500 from a Prairie Dog dealer and received it only to find out that the Woods pins were slightly larger in diameter than the mounting holes in the Prairie Dog bucket. The other issue I had with the bucket is that it was not square when welded together. I noticed this just eyeballing it, and confirmed with measurements. When I say off, the bucket mount was 7 degress off parallel to the bucket itself, and bucket was a parallelogram, not a rectangle. Needless to say I was very disappointed, returned the bucket and purchased the right bucket from Woods. Luckily the only thing I lost was the cost of shipping the bucket back.

I read that I can get a bucket for my Woods 7500 through one of your guys. Is that true?

I need something smaller than say 9".

gerrybcatmsndotcom

I've been quoted prices between 275 and up to 700. ....

Aside from the fact that the last post in this thread is over 10 years old and so you may not get much feedback, the opening line of the very first post above yours starts with the poster saying they are NOT interchangeable.

Best of luck. ....

Turns out I can order one from a local Woods dealer. A 9" for not much more than a Prairie Dog one.

The Woods dealer can get one to him for me for $350.

Prairie Dog wants $325 plus shipping for an 8".

Makes sense to go with the brand name since the guy above says the PD didn't fit right and was oddly shaped. ....
