I am going to buy a brand new NEW HOLLAND compact tractor this week.
I have a chance to buy a TC24DA HST 4WD with loader, mid mount mower, R4 tires , and block heater.
OR,
TC30 HST ,4WD with loader , midmount mower ,R4 tires , and block heater.
Basicaly same features but bigger attachments on TC30.
I,m looking for a tractor to mow around the house with , do a little loader work with ,brush hog abought 25 to 30 acers 2 times a year,and do a little tilling for seeding around 1 or 2 acers .
I was told by the dealer the TC24DA would handle a 5 foot brush hog and a 60 inch tiller .
I have been looking at the TC30 for a while but not sure if it would be to big for mowing around the house ?
I,m not sure if the TC24DA is big enough for brush hogging and field work.
I can buy either tractor for the same price.
Which one should I buy ???????
Ps if I go with the TC30 will the 60 inch mid mount mower be wide enough to mow the width of the rear tires ?
Please send any and all opinions.

It seems to me that a five foot bush hog on the TZ24 would be pushing it for any cutting of tall and thick or woody material. How much maneuverability do you need around your house, and how big is that area? ....

I dont have a lot of trees or obsticles on most of the lawn , a few things to go around in the front.
I will also use tractor to move snow , .
Looking at all around tractor , some home use and some feild use.
I,m sure majority of time will be mowing around house but I want to be sure the tractor will handle some field work.

Like computers, you usually want to buy as much as you can afford. For the job you described, either will work. Cutting around the house can be cumbersome with a rig that big. My TZ25DA would make short work of everything you described and comes in 3-4k less with all the equipment. If you're going to do a lot of loader work, get the 30...definitely. In any case, go to the dealer to drive and operate the equipment on both so you can feel the hydraulics and the effects of the exact implements on weight and balance.

I would recommend the TC30. The 60" mid deck covers the wheel track nicely. You also have 3 rages vs. 2 more loader capacity more 3pt capacity an the hp to weight ratio is about the best out there. Plus you will also have about 6 more inches of ground clearance. The only down side may be the lack of cruise control but it is optional. ....

If it were not for the heavy brush hogging you are intending on doing the 24 would be a nice tractor but because of your heavy use of pto power the 30 will be a much better suited to your needs. As long as your yard is fairly firm you won't have any problems with mowing, one other thought would be that since you say there are few obstacles for mowing you could save a good chunk of money on a rear finish mower. e Which ever you choose enjoy your new machine. ....
