I have the 4110 also. I have looked, but have not priced. A JD dealer told me to look up this site... http://www.firebirdfiberglass.com/I have not inquired about prices though.

A cheap cieling fan or two increaces the effectiveness of a unit heater dramatically. It worked wonders in my 28x36 garage with a 10' cieling. I only have a 48,000 btu furnace which, along with the fan, keeps it comfortable all winter on minimal fuel (natural gas).

Yours is an older one and the dealers were notified of the potential of breakage as well as my customers recieving a letter from Kubota as they always do to notify them of a needed repair. To find the part you need used it is the same housing as all other 8 speed Glideshifts.

Ken, why do you need the brakes on a hydro? I've driven them for over 30 years and never remembered needing a brake other then when shutting the tractor off to park.. I do prefer the flat deck vs the nearly flat deck with a few obstructions of the other manufacturers.

Sorry for the delay in posting, it's been busy lately.

I did purchase a DK55 a few weeks ago. So far, I am happy with the tractor. I have had a few problems with the tractor, but nothing major. The adjustment arm for the three point hitch won't turn. Not sure if it has too much grease or if it's frozen, I'll take it back to the dealer for them to sort out. Also, one of the hydraulic fittings had a crack in it that caused a small leak. I bought the new fitting and some teflon tape for 8 bucks at napa. The major problem I have is the gas tank. It's plastic and located on the underside of the tractor directly below the seat. One of the plastic nipples on top of the tank has broken and is leaking diesel everywhere. I haven't taken a real close look, but it looks like I'll need another gas tank. Sigh. I'll check that out better this weekend.

I appreciate your input, but... I think you have too little information to say whether or not I'm "stuck with it." The lawyer working the case has seen the plat, researched the law, and has a law degree... and he's not even sure I'm stuck with it. Needless to say the laywer hasn't impressed me. Regardless... that's gettin off track.

The law says my only recourse is through the courts. I'm really looking for someone who has been to court and I'm wanting to know if they did or did not recover court cost.

Yeah your right the planning and zoning office would be worth a try.

A body shop should be more than able to fix it.

I suspect, however, that compared to what the body shop would charge the $250 from the dealer is going to sound like a real bargain.

If you're up for the challange, why not tackle the body work yourself? There's a lot of good info. on doing body work on the various DIY websites and it's not difficult.

The worst thing that can happen is you have to spend the $250 you're already looking at spending anyways.

Sounds like a relatively pleaseant way to pass an afternoon to me, get a comfy stool under the ole' shade tree, put the hood across your kneee and get busy. Just don't forget a big glass of lemonade, it can be thirsty work.

As a servicing dealer and having people that are trained to work on these as well as being active tractor pullers(50%of my tech's) we play all the time with the mechanical pumps as you have on your tractors. We do not do the final adjustments on site but send them out to people who do it all day and have the proper machine to test the results before it gets installed on the tractor. We do recommend and advise as to our expected results from them and they fine tune our requests so it is a plus for all.

Looks alot like the BX23 setup to me. By the look of this equipment I would believe that Woods is the OEM supplier to Kubota. Their FEL is almost exactly the same as mine (Kubota LA).

Although I don't live in Alabama, it is refreshing to here a story of a dealer rep that is concerned enough to go out of his way to make sure you are taken care of. Thanks for the good message.

Although my dealer's corporate staff should all be fired, the sales guy took good care of me and still did. When my aux light kit showed up, he came out to my place to install it. He did this since it was supposed to be installed at time of purchase (note: see comment about the corporate staff). He tries hard and I think they'd be in trouble if not for him.

I like my 990. It's a real brute. With 40HP I can brush hog 2'-3' grass high going up a steep hill without missing a beat. The quick attach for the bucket and the FEL itself is--err, well--quick. I also experienced the problem Yerbyra reports--the engine got fuel starved with a quarter tank still left because the fuel line is poorly positioned for working nose down on hills. It gave me fits but now that I know the problem I just keep the tank filled. I also think that it comes down to whether you need hydro or can deal with gears and dealer availability and quality. Price was also a consideration for me. The 990 gives you a reliability and solid value for the $$. I have had gear tractors for 10 years. I admit to thinking of a getting shuttle shift/power reverer setup next time around whenever I am working a snow bank or doing a lot of quick back and forth work.

I think the Jinma 354 would be all the tractor you would need. Go with a reputable dealer like Harryg says and you will get all your projects done and keep alot more money in your pocket. No they are'nt the quality of some of the others but they are very heavy built and powerful. I've owned a Jinma going on 3 years and have put around 250 hours on it and it looks and runs as good as new. The first year or so I was always wondering when it would just collapse into a pile of junk like some people would have you think.....so far its been much better then expected.
This has been the only thing thats stopped it.
