It seems that Kubota has had a problem with the casting on the hydraulic clutch in the Glide Shift Transmission (GST). Mine has failed (the casting broke in the snap ring groove area). Kubota has been replacing some of these, but my tractor which has only 800 hours on it is 10 years old and they don't accept any responsibilty for the failure. Has any one out there had any experience with this type of problem with Kubota??? Would like to hear from anyone. Any ideas on where to get a used part for this?

Yours is an older one and the dealers were notified of the potential of breakage as well as my customers recieving a letter from Kubota as they always do to notify them of a needed repair. To find the part you need used it is the same housing as all other 8 speed Glideshifts. ....

What did the notification by Kubota consist of?? Did they offer to replace the defective part? How about labor? I am not the first owner of this machine so I don't know if the original owner was notified by Kubota or not. What has Kubota's history been on replacement of defective parts? Are you a Kubota dealer? I had the opportunity to buy a machine for about the same price that was 4 years newer, but had 2000 hours on it and I chose to buy the older machine with much less use. Maybe I made the wrong decision. Thanks for responding to my e-mail. I would greatly appreciate any insight you can give me about this issue. ....
