I have a 5' landpride for my 4100. It ran in the 300 range, do not really remember. It is a good heavy blade. I like it. I do not know too much about the others. I would not have any reservations about recommending one to a freind.

Yep, understand your problem, went to the barn after I got your post and checked my 870- fully adjustable- locknut and screwed in tie rod ends. Also attempted to check the toe in and at best came up with 1/4 inch toe in. But it all depends where you hold the tape. As it is I scuff the grass when I turn too sharp or fast and certainly when I forget to throw it out of 4 wheel. Slow on turns and very little scuff if any at all. But as the guy with the orange machines said in his post, I don't attempt to circle a tree but

Purchased a new 790 last month here in Mich. with 70 loader,R4s-filled, new brush hog, ballist box and heater for $15000. delivered. Quoted price on the tractor w loader was $13950.

There is only one way to comfortably and SAFELY negotiate a hill on a compact, regardless of colour, size or tires, and that is absolutely perpendicular to the hill!! Do not stop, change speed (if possible), turn, raise or lower 3pth or loader, or most especially, try to shift part way up or down!!!! If you must cut a slope, do it uphill only, drive back down then cut your way up again, reasoning, if you are cutting downhill and machine slips you won't be able to react properly (or fast enough) under power. In the course of my business we cut several paddocks that exceed 45deg. slopes (i.e. they go up 1' for every 1' forward!!) this is done in 3rd or 4th gear, and only with a 4wd machine with a VERY experienced operator. If in doubt or uncomfortable, DONT DO IT! Better to live to play, I mean work with your tractor another day.........Best of luck & be safe!!

Jeff,<br>The 320 is a new model that was introduced last Spring. It has features simular to a tractor we used to produce called the LongTrac 2310. The major diffrence between the two is the transmission. The 2310 had a 6F/2R while the LongTrac 320 has 8F/2R Partial Synchronized transmission wich results in smoother shift between gears. I wanted to clarify what is happening with my 4400HST as it is pretty minor. <br>I am doing lots of mowing so I try to be really gentle with this new machine. As I slow the machine down and lift my foot off the forward pedal, most of the time the pedal follows my foot up. But once in a while it sticks down for a short time, then pops up to my foot or comes up against the stop. This brings everything to kind of a sudden stop. <br>In my case, this problem is not a

Visited my local JD dealer today looking for a replacement for my 10 year old JD 870. He had me look at the 4400 4wd. I balked at the price, (close to $20k), and then he told me of Deere's soon to be released 990 model. Like the 790 which replaced the 770 with more hp, the 990 is supposed to be the old 970 with the additional 5hp the 1070 had. The dealer had limited information for me. Does anyone out there know more about the

I just bought a 1630 Supersteer with 208 hours, the 7308 loader and<br>a five foot belly mower. I paid 15K for all. At first I worried I paid<br>too much, but in looking at some of the postings I think I did alright.<br>By the way...I love the tractor!!!

I had a 316 with hydro for 12 years and at times abused it, pushed the machine to stall many times and never had a hydro issue at all. I bought the 4100 with hydro for that reason and would certainly only go hydro whatever tractor I bought. Well worth the extra $

I also have the 4100 with no problems after using quite a few attachments over the past 1+ yr. including box blade and pulverizer, finish mower and bushhog. I would not put a backhoe on the machine, it is not recommended but then again I don't need one either so it doesn't matter to me. The machine does what I need it to do and I believe it will hold up for many years, probably longer than I will. It has certainly saved me many backaches if I were to attempt doing the many things it has accomplished.

I have looked at a 7300 HST with a LA271 front loader. the unit has 80 hours and is a trade in on an upgrade. I think it still has some warranty left. the tire are an intermediate tread. I was just wondering if anyone has an opinion on the value.<br>

Anyone ever replace a rear axle seal on a B-Series? I have a B7200 with a weeping axle that I was going to take care of this winter. I was hoping to be able to do it myself. Does the side final drive case need to be removed or can the seal be serviced with every thing on the tractor? Any words of wisedom? <br>Thanks in advance, <br>Russ <br>
