Brokenarrow; I'm asuming you're talking about one of those little 12V pumps like from TSC. I really don't know how much power they take, but a few years ago I had one for the "Gator" that just hooked to the battery with alagator clips. I don't know how big an alternator the Gator has, but it can't be much. It worked fine, but the sprayer never ran more than 5 or ten minutes at a strech. So unless it's a bigger pump than I think I'd just use the tractor battery. You're not alone wandering aimlessly in the darkness of the digital camera world. Our computer/digital camera freak son came by yesterday on his 41'st birthday for some of Mom's roast beef, so before dinner I talked him into taking some pictures and posting them for me, I'd tried to figure it out on my own, but never seemd to be able to get it done. I'm wondering why someone hasn't came up with some sort of a motion/sound/light detector kinda like the alarm things on a car that honk the horn, (usually till the battery goes dead). Seems like back in the seventys or eightys that driveway alarms got kinda popular but I haven't heard much about them since. I don't know much about dogs, but I'm sure if your dog bit a thief you'd get sued even tho the thief stole your tactor. Anybody know something about alarm systems? Frank.

I don't know where my barn builder gets his Al channels, but they should be available at any big lumber yard, hardware store or metal supply house. They are just 2" wide, 8' long Al channels. There are two channels at each corner, facing 90 degrees away from each other, bolted into the 6x6 pole beams. Another way to think about it is there are two channels per side, facing towards each other. They butt against each other at each corner, so almost none of the pole beam is visible to the horses.

And yes, the 2x6's span 12 feet with no center support. Since they are T&G the wall as a whole can take quite a kick before any board will fail, and my builder says none of his ever have. The wall seperating two stalls is just one layer of the 2x6 T&G.

If this is not clear enough I can take some pictures of my stalls.

By the way, you don't have to use Aluminum. There is nothing that says you can't use a couple of 2x4's or 4x4s bolted to the barn frame with a space between them to form the channel. The Al is nice because it won't rust or rot, and it is smooth so the T&G is easy to slide out.

OUCH! Sounds pretty spendy when compared to other colors!
I like hearing a cab may be in the future for some of these smaller tractors. If JD leads the way I am sure the rest will follow, just like the new higher hp has been added to JD's line.

My filters are made in Japan (just checked) I am sure to be competative price wise alot of parts need to come from markets over sea's. In a perfect world they would buy them form manufacturers here in the good ole USA, but then
only the elite would be able to purchase one. Japn is much better than say, malysia or taiwan (sorry for the spelling did not want to spell check it)

Let me just say this about turfs. Not any good in mud. I was out brushing hogging on sunday(my birthdays in tuesday so I was trying to avoid working on my birthday) I was brushhogging around pond when I sunk in. I had the mud up to the axle. The turfs just sat and spun. Lucky me I was close enough to a telephone pole to get a comealong and a chain to the tractor to get myself out.

Started exactly there. Have you been under the platform and seen exactly what you are up gaginst from theat angel. To get two wrenches in place to properly tighten the set nut to the jamb nut was a piece of nuckle gymnastics I was not able to porform. It is awfully busy under there with speed control linkage and throttle linkage. I just couldn't get a proper position without going through the cowl.

Not doubting it can be done that way. My figers and tools couldn't do it. Make sure you have the right set of metric wrenches. You need a very slender 12mm wrench to hold the jamb nut while turning the set nut.

Have you considered a grapple instead of loader forks? Kwschumm has a real nice grapple set up on his JD 4310 that he seems very satisfied with.

Your tractor has a electronic shut off on the fuel pump.
Chech to see if it work the same each time you shut down and restart.
the fact it started right up after you turn the key left.

The chain is there to keep the plastic shaft cover from rotating. Loose items can get wrapped up in any rotating shaft.

It dose not have to be in direct contact with rain. High humidity plays havoc on some starters. They get a little bit of rust inside and they quit working right. Especially if you do not use it often. Here is an example. If you car sits for a few days and it is humid look at your brake rotors. They will have rust starting to form on them this can even happen over night if the conditions are right. The same thing happens to starter and clutches. That is why it is recommended to lock your clutch disengaged if it is going to be idol for a while. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about the starter.

I owned a BX22 for about a year.

I have a rock-strewn hillside lot and I just couldn't deal with the ride quality after a while. That was the only real complaint I had.

Thanks for your information. It is much appreciated. I am in Australia, and I think the new holland shape issue, may not be an issue over hear.

Thank you for the info in the engine, I will check with the EPA here in Aussie, if it is an issue. I am please to hear an opinion about the Foton built tractor and you think they are OK.

You are 100% correct Spare parts will be an issue. This is my next main concern re importing one of these tractors, as the only Chinese tractor manufacture in australia is one called "Rhino".

OK guys,
My TZ18DA was delivered Friday...so I can now answer my own questions!
For anyone who would like to know, straight from the manual:
Top speed forward...10.3 mph

Weight 54" mmm deck..220.5 pounds.
This tractor is SUPER quality, and is just what I needed!

Well I bit the bullet and ordered it 5/28 and the dealer just called me 6/12 to say the tractor,FEL, BB were in and ready for delivery the LX5, and tiller were not in yet. I'm debating on getting the I match because i don't now if any other of the impliments I purchase will be I match compatable.

I can't imagine a FEL without down-pressure. It is required for basic operations.

The FEL will also have a float setting that will release the pressure for certain operations.
