Is there such a thing as like a Chilton's or Haynes' repair manual for Kubota tractors? If so, is there one for the BX23? <br>

Thanks for the input on the tire filling. I need to stop by Kubota this week anyway, and when I do I'll see what tire filling options my local dealer recommends. If they say anything interesting, I'll let you know.

I, too, am interested to hear how filled tires affect mowing on grass. My grass does tend to stay wet in some areas (and the frequent rain here isn't helping). Is it comparable to say mowing with the weight of FEL and backhoe attached?

I appreciate your advice.

My floor board also gets hot while mowing for 2 hours with
my 72"mmm, the heat comes from the hydro trans,in fact my
floor board temp stays around 110 degrees on a 80 degree
day.I rest my left foot on top the brake pedal when it gets
too hot...right foot never gets hot because its operating
the hydro pedals..

As a recent customer of Tarheel's I can vouch for Steve. I purchased nearly $10k of attachments for my new TC33 site unseen over the phone from Steve. I expained to him that I had no knowledge of tractors, told him what I wanted and what I wanted it to do. A week later I was pulling the equipment of the truck. I have yet to mount and try out the backhoe, but the mower deck, brush cutter and rake fit my work perfectly. When I found out that I needed pins for the three point hitch, he overnighted TWO sets free of charge. Since he beat the local dealers prices by several hundred dollars, he will get all my repeat business. THank you kindly, Smitty.

Sounds like you have pretty much the same set up as on my JD 4610. I always put the pin in the slotted area. If it's in the 3rd hole on the right side, then I put it in the 3rd on the left.<br>

All it does is keep whatever implement you're using, square with the tractor. If you didn't use the anti-sway bars, the implement would be swaying from one side to the other.

I am VERY close to purchasing a New Holland TZ18DA...but, I cannot find some of the specs I would like to know(even from the main website).<br>
Some things I would like are: What is the "top" speed?<br>
Forward AND reverse?<br>
What is the weight of the tractor and also 54" mower weight?<br>
Is the mower assembly a "no tools needed" hookup?<br>
Anyone able to tell me a good cart(15-18cf)I can get for it to haul stuff?<br>
Would be very appreciative for any answers here! Also anybody have a New Holland TZ18DA? <br>

Art; I really don't know how much lead Deere uses or recommends, but it's real easy to tell if you're close by following the guage mark left by corn planter when you make the nest pass trying to keep the center of the tractor on the mark. While planting you are usually in fresh worked soil that the tires sink into a bit. If you find it hard to keep the tractor on the mark your lead is too little, when your front tires ar pulling their share of the load she'll stay right on the mark without wandering. In heavy tillage your wheel slip allways exceeds the lead percentag so it is cancelled out. I usually watch the slip percentage readout and try to ballast the tractor to keep total slip between 6 and 10% under full load. I don't know for sure about the other series but the 8000 series Deeres turn the front wheel assist off soon as you touch either brake pedal for an end row turn around then it kicks back in when you let off the brake, that makes turning lots easier on things. Frank.

Thanks, I'll se if I can get to it from under the trator. That would be my first approach from what I see in the parts manual. I'll give it a try tommorow and see if I can get to it without dismantling the tractor. Thanks again.

I have been looking for a similar set up with a few more attachments. However, from the pricing I have, I could get the same set up from one dealer for $19,750, which I thought was a fair deal, until I checked with another who quoted $18,600 for what would be your set up. You might consider the iMatch Quick Hitch as well for attachments to your 3pt--I understand it is well worth it. Both offers included 0% financing for 36 months w/10% down, and the prices are after all rebates. Make sure you ask for the heavy duty bucket on the 430; I understand it is worth the extra $$. As someone with a MF GC2300 who has learned mostly in hindsight, I'd say everything above is true. Also, petushead's point about weight of the tractor can also be applied to the implements themselves. Implements for this size tractor tend to run light; depending on what you've got in mind, this may or may not be important to you. Any changes in topography will be easily relayed to a backblade, for instance.

Also (again from experience) think about your desire/need for position control with the implements you plan on using. I don't remember on the JD, but with my MF it's all by eye, and sometimes that's a pain in the butt.

Finally, make sure to check the width of the "top link slot" on the tractor against a "standard" toplink for Cat 1. As I recall, mine was just a bit narrower and required me to grind down a standard top link.

I like my rear discharge MMM,,unless you use a collector,I , think it is the way to go,,you neve have to worry about the discharge getting clogged and it dosent winrow the discharge,,just a thought

The TZ is a great value,,and you can use regular cat1 attachments,,I would spring the extra $400.,,for the automatic 4WD,,it is a GREAT machine

It is interesting that Funchy brought up bamboo. I have monsterous patches of it on the new farm I just bought. It grows in extremely dense thickets on the ridge line slopes under dense canopy forest where it stays pretty damp and humid. It does not grow out in the open or at least I have not found any patches of it there yet. If it would grow in the open, then it would make a fantastic privacy barrier. Some of this stuff is nearly 15 feet high and maybe higher is some places. I have no idea what species it is. Looks really nice and the wildlife seem to like hiding in it.

Need advice on building a privacy barrier w dwarf fur or spruce

I posted this in another thread recently but he it is again. Pic #3. You can do the same thing with a 55 or 30 gallon drum and buy a drum dolly from Harbor Freight to move it around on. All the pump, hose, nozzle, and filter is sold at Tractor Supply Center. The advantage of such a large tank is that you can purchase off road or agriculture fuel and save about 45 - 50 cents a gallon off taxes. If you use a good bit, it is definitely worth it.

How do you fuel you tractor there must be a better way
