I've used 2 terramites from rental company's the gas and diesel versions and I have to say they were extremely akward and not very efficient. The diesel was brand newq and within the first couple hours the throttle broke and a hydraulic hose developed a leek, neither were due to abuse. Ive used kubotas and the dig-it, the di g-it is a much better machine, extremely easy to operate.

CalFarm provides a good policy. Today I called for quotes from State Farm and Farmers. Quotes are pending, and agents are researching. State Farm requires a separate rider for small farming coverage.

S.J. Heard of a new model B-Series tractor coming out soon,a B2910.Don't know any specs about the the seat,but will have a telescoping steering wheel,similar to L-Series,29 H.P.,on the same frame as the B2710.I would think with the ability to adjust the steering wheel,this might also help a little with the leg room.I'm a flat 6'tall and have no problems on my 2710.I previously owned a B2150 and I guess I'm so happy with the flatter platform on the 2710,the seating has not been a concern of mine.I find the seat to be very comfortable,especially with the folding arm rests.But I know everybodies rear-end is a little differant.So don't settle for something that just does'nt feel right.Good luck,and if your not in a big toot,the 2910 might just be worth waiting for,if nothing else,just to check out the seating.

1987 JD 850, 4WD, with loader and power steering, 650 hours. The problem is that the bucket sinks slowly, suggesting a hydraulic misfunction. A heavy load makes the bucket sink a bit faster. The bucket also curls forward slowly. In addition, the three point hitch will sink slowly after the engine is off. I have had the primary loader cylinders rebuilt. My chief suspect is the hydraulic controller, but this is an expensive part and I would appreciate any other opinions/experience before attempting any repairs. Also, the power steering works well to the right, but requires some muscle to turn left.

I own a JD4100 HST 4wd w/loader. 3 weeks ago I operated a New Holland 33 hp tractor w/loader, manual trans, and 4wd. I'm not certain what the model was. I operated the tractor for about 2 hrs. loading logs using the front loader and chains. Other than the manual trans I really liked the tractor and couldn't tell much difference between NH and JD as far as construction quality and ease of operation. Obviously the NH was larger and more powerful than the JD that I own. As I recall the tractor had 3 ranges and 4 speeds per range with a shuttle drive. The only negative thing that I noticed was that in 4th gear and 2nd range while driving down the road the loader frame seemed to wobble. I realize that 2 hrs is not much time to form an opinion but overall it seemed like a nice tractor to me.

I have a 1/4 woods road I want to try to keep clear this winter. It is not exactly level. I have a loader, I also adapted a towbehind grader blade to a 3pt backblade. I anticipate that since the road is not very flat that using either the loader or the blade might be a bit of a headache. Has anyone made skids or floats or whatever they might be called to keep a blade from digging into the road? My thought is that I should prolly make something to keep the blade from digging in and go backwards with the tractor. Any thoughts?<br>Thanks<br>Kim

I'm a first time compact owner (B2710). The hydro trans and 4wheel drive plus a loader and hoe pretty much means I can dig anything easily and quickly. I've done alot of that (35ac, but only about 5 need any work). Seems to me, if you are digging/building/landscaping 4wheel drive and hydro are a no brainer. If you are farming/mowing then maybe gear and/or two wheel drive are a less costly alternative.<br>I really, really like the 2710. It is a digging beast.<br>(a former michigander, now a coloradoan).

My homeowners insurance is through State Farm. They added a rider to my policy to cover the replacement cost of the tractor. This was required by the finance company (new holland credit).

I've had a JD4200 for a little over six months and have checked the battery at least once. When I checked the battery this weekend, there was severe corrosion on the positive terminal with some corrossion on the negative. After removing the battery (which is installed directly in front of the hydraulic oil cooler), I found that the bottom one third of the fins on the cooler had corrosion damage as deep as 1/4

If any of you find a similar problem, I would appreciate you e-mailing me so I can contact the factory.
