It took me about two days and $40 (not including an additional $30 for oil and filter).
I tried using the Loctite product but it didnt seem to setup very well for some reason so I scraped it off and smeared some JBWeld about 1/8" thick all over the bottom of the pan, threw the 500 watt lights to it so it would setup good and hard and put some good primer and high temp paint on it.
So far its doing well. Judging from the way the JBWeld went on and the way it setup, It will be on there for some time to come.
If I can stop the further progression of rust, I dont see this repair ever being a problem again.

I don't keep up as well as I'd like to on what's being offered on new models, but it would'nt surprise me that the next series of 4000 Deeres would offer a factory cab with sound equipment as an option. Our ten series in the seven and eight thousand farm tractors don't have CD, but hey do have tape/am/fm/NOAA weather band. The twenty series offers a CD plus satellite radio. Just an interesting observation, a week or so ago a semi passed me on I-380 between Cedar Rapids and Waterloo Ia. It had three NH compacts that looked to be new tractors. One had no cab, one had a soft side cab, and the third looked like a factory cab. Was that an aftermarket cab, or does NH now offer a cab? Frank.

Sgt1985; The dealer was right. On new equipment paint can be a problem, but if left unpainted they will rust after time. I've got a big old oilcan that my Dad had like you see on the old films where the guy is oiling the big steam locomotive. I keep it full of used oil and a couple times a year just make the rounds of stored equipment including what is stored inside and give anything that has to be kept free, pto couplers, any threaded adjustment points, etc. with a liberal amount of used oil. Real cheap and very effective. Have a great weekend, Frank.

Optima makes a smaller starter battery now - sized 75/35 Dual terminal. L 9.4" W 6.8" H 7.6" weight is 31 lbs.. Granted it is more battery than most tractors come with. I have had excellent life out of all my Optima's. Normally I have found some way to fit them. One of Optima's claims is to resist vibration better. In this area Autozone carries this size along with the larger 34/78.

Dave..glad to hear you're getting pumped up. Now, keep working on it until you can keep the front wheel off the ground for at least one block with at least one gear change along the way. I used to do that on my old Bonneville and I'm now back up to...about 20'.

I looked at the JD site and my tiller looks just like the Frontier models - only orange. The manufacture date is 2001 and it bears the designation: Tipo: Zappatrice. It is also stamped Kg: 195. Assuming this is the weight, it would seem to match the JD RT1250. Any further suggestions in tracking down the correct model?

Grinder and i have the same set up, except i have a 51" New metro snow blower. I use mine commerically, on driveways that go straight in. A blade isn't good in MA, i used to live there, and a snowblower is the way to go. Right now i am in the process of building a loader mounted snowplow so i have a choice. Bucket, plow, or blower on one machine. So it would depend on the snow condition to use each machine.

Grinder did you get that cab, i am going to build one myself. Well maybe, I will just add it to the list of project starting on April 15(last day of college) Already includes, to much work for customers, finish snowplow, build 3 bay (brick) garage (to keep tractor and cars dry), finish the basement(needs sheetrock and paint), Restore two JD 110 garden tractor and 2 of 5 locke reel mowers.

i have mounted lights for customers in a variety of places on the class III nh (35,40,45) with loaders.<br>
On the top of the rops but if you do this DO NOT DRILL or WELD to it, but then i have to say that cause of where i work. make or buy a clamp that goes around the bar. (we sell padded clamps that are easy to mount they are 1 on the difficulty scale) I have also mounted to the cross bar an the loader it self there is one spot on that area that nh says is OK to drill in to but only 5/16" holes and that is where you would mount the third function hyd out let on the loader extreme left side right beside where the steel line 90 to the rubber lines.

oh i see the ones that we are selling re tie rod with a 3,500 psi rateing and a surge rating ot 4,500 that is probly why they are more.

Here is the thing billyr sent me the pics of his broken tractor. The factory bucket is not on it it has some kind of 4in1 bucket and a heavy looking one to me. I don't know how to get the pis available to others if any body dose let me know. But it is definitely not an approved attachment for the 7308 loader or the tc33d. All i will say is that if a nh rep saw that he would say he is not going to cover that even if it were still under warranty simply because of the bucket that is attached to it. I can not tell how t is mounted either pinned on or with a ssl style quick attach plate, either way it is not right. I do not think that nh sells a quick attach plate for that loader but i may be wrong. I've only put them on the 16,17,and the new 18la loaders. i know ati makes them for just about every loader out there , but now I'm rambling.

Have you run this by your dealer and area tech rep. to inquire if they would be willing to conduct a teardown failure analysis. (my suspisions are that they will not) Can't hurt to ask. What were you doing with the tractor each time the engine failure occurred?

I have a Shib SD2600. Where do you check and add hydraulic fluid for the 3 point lift? What type fluid do I use? The only filler hole I can find is by the transmission gear shift levers. Does the gear box and 3 point share the same fluid reservoir? Finally, can anyone help me with all the controls on the electronic 3 point control box. The thing goes up and down likes its suppose to but I'd like to know what options those controls give me. All comments are appreciated.
