hehe yes i currently have my iron and concrete antifreeze in my ballast box. im guessing about 800# which i think is plenty. I dont want to stress the rear too much either.

thanks guys for the tips i was not aware of this adaptor valve and probably would have done my usual mcgyver rigging and done it my hard way. i still wonder about antifreeze or washer fluid getting all bubbly or foamy/etc rolling around like that though. although antifreeze certainly goes through its paces in an engine, right? hmmm...

I put almost 3000 hours on my little 2nd hand Ford and only adjusted it twice. It had close to 4000 hours on it when it went down the road.

My 2.5 year old JD4400 has 700 or so hours on it now. clutch linkage adjusters came loose first 100 or so hours and all had to be reajusted. Took some reading and some fiddling to be comfortable with result.

I learned about clutches the hard way. My dad would wail my knee with a stick (or verbal) anytime the foot got near the pedal unless I was fully depressing to stop or change gears. Never set idling with clutch pushed in gear.

It was a well learned lesson and I am glad to have learned it young. I operate heavy equipment much the same way.

I see waaaaaay too many clutch slippers today. HST is a good thing for some.

1987 226d w/Yanmar bucket loader. Loader wont operate unless there is a load on the 3pt hitch. If the load on the 3pt hitch is released, the bucket stays in position..until you operate the control lever, then it just drops slowly.<br>

I would have to agree with kwschumm on finding an after market seat. My NH came standard with a seat the swivels and lock at 10 and 20 degrees either diretion. For me that was one of the selling points as I too have had a history of lower back problems and having spent many hours on an old M raking hay and constantly turning back to look at the windrows took its toll. Now when I do rear work I just shift the seat and it locks and I am much more comfortable.

im sure there are others out there some where but i have never seen one i would have to agree with brokenarrow get it in to your dealer while you are still under warrenty they will most likely remove the seat and fenders and pull the top cover off the see the gears and check for proper back lash

robhoa, I've had my 4110 for 4 months now and have done a lot of box scraping with my 48". I believe 48" is about all the 4110 can handle. I am tearing up and leveling solid ground and easilly bring my tractor to a stand still if I try to take too big of a bite. I have 5 acres of which I need to level three. The land was once used for an informal motorcycle track and has a lot of big ruts and small mounds. I've leveled abount a half an acre so far. I find that I have to keep the tractor in 4wd when scraping. Taking the right size bites, I mostly just chug along, back and forth, back and forth...easy but monotonous.

I've bought a Kubota B7001 a perfect tractor but all the signs on the tractor are in japanese. Does somebody has an englisch operation manual? I also have a question about starting.. The key of the tractor can also be turned to the left side. Whatfor??<br>

c5er, the Kub and JD were about $1000 difference in price, so I went to the manager of the JD dealership and told him I was about to buy a Kub unless he could get lower (which by the way was true...I was intending to buy the Kub) and he came down the extra $300 and threw in free pick up and delivery on any warranty work. I liked this last throw-in since it somewhat indicated he didn't anticipate a lot of warranty work :o)

No smoke or missing. Tractor only has 140 hrs on it. Just happened all at once, (The Dying). Idles ok at any rpm you place it on as long as you place it there slowly. Don't have shop manual on 2554 yet but am looking for one.

Zippy, went through the same analysis with my 7800. Adding remotes with power beyond off the FEL was the best solution, both for practicality and economics. With a pump off the mid PTO, you have issues with reservoir locations and pump mounts. The power beyond circuit is simple and very cost effective. Just ordered a two spool SV valve with power beyond for $160 (US). Add some fittings, hoses, and quick connects and should be plumbed up for less than $300.
